Immediately Delete These Android Apps with Malware

It has been a long time since malware has caused us so much fear, as is the case with TeaBot and FluBot . Two Trojans that are found in different applications that have passed for the real ones in order to install themselves on our mobile devices. This has been reported by the security company Bitdefender in a new investigation that it has recently published, in which it collects a set of malicious Android apps.

In addition, these two malware are known for being able to steal their victims’ bank details, as reported at the beginning of 2021. Although, they have other ways to obtain the credentials of their victims without having to resort to imitating some of the best apps on the Google Play Store.

The apps with a probability of malware

First of all, we are faced with TeaBot, a banking Trojan that is already known to be capable of attacking different banking entities, especially in Spain. And it is that it has the ability to steal different key data from the affected people through SMS, with which they manage to remotely control mobile devices.

As reported by this security company, the latest bank apps that this malware has had its eye on are the following: Bankia Wallet, BankinterMóvil, BBVA Spain, Kutxabank, Santander, Bankia, CaixaBankNow, Banca Digital Liberbank, Openbank, UnicajaMovil , Banco Sabadell App, Cajasur, GrupoCajamar, Ibercaja and ING Spain. Basically, we will have to be careful if we are going to download any of these, since they almost perfectly imitate their appearance and even the name in order for us to install them in our terminals.

Likewise, they have identified other new applications with this same modus operandi, so you will have to uninstall them immediately , since these five are imitations of the originals, and they are the following applications: ‘VLC MediaPlayer’, ‘Kaspersky: Free Antivrus’ , ‘PlutoTV’, ‘BookReader’ and ‘Uplift: Health and Wellness App’.

As for FluBot, it does not act through apps, but it does pass itself off as a transport or courier company in order to steal people’s bank details again. Therefore, if you receive a somewhat strange SMS , in which it is indicated that a certain package could not be delivered, it will be necessary to delete it. In this message, it tells us that we must enter a link, which will take us to a window in which an app with malware will be downloaded that will be able to control our Android smartphone.
