At the moment we are in this situation of not being able to run the application correctly, the first thing that can come to mind is to uninstall the program and reinstall it, change the system time, etc. However, we may encounter problems. Some data has been saved in the registry that although we reinstall it, we still recognize the initial installation date or that despite changing the system time it still does not work.
But the truth is that there is a way to run a program on an earlier date very easily. To do this, far from looking for some trick involved in our system, it is best to use a third-party tool that has been designed exactly for this purpose. We refer to RunAsDate .
Steps to follow to run a program on an earlier date
It is a software developed by NirSoft and that we can get completely free of charge. To do this, we simply have to go to the developer’s website and download the latest version of this tool.
This will save us a .ZIP file on our disk that we will have to unzip. Inside you will find three files, readme.txt, where we will find information on how the tool works and requirements necessary for its proper functioning, RunAsDate.chm and the tool executable, RunAsDate.exe .
Therefore, all we have to do to launch the program on our desktop is to double click on the executable file. Automatically, we will see how a window opens with its interface, which as we can see is quite simple and intuitive to handle.
The first thing we should indicate is the application we want to run with an earlier date. To do this, we click on the Browse button next to the Application field and select the program of the route of our equipment where we have it installed. Next, we define the date on which we want it to run or that we want the program to understand. That is, if we have an application whose trial version has expired on a specific date, we must indicate a date before that.
RunAsDate allows us to indicate a specific date, that is, month, day, year and even time or to indicate the date by subtracting a number of days from the current date. That is, we can indicate that the program is executed as if we were going back in time a specific number of days.
Simply by indicating these two things we would have everything ready to run the program, however, RunAsDate allows us to configure other details or options , such as returning to the current date after X seconds or at the time when the program is run, run the tool as administrator, etc. Therefore, with the always done filling in the first two fields, we can run the program on a previous date very quickly and easily.
