The power of the Galaxy S22 and its new Exynos 2200 CPU

The presentation of the Exynos 2200 processor that the Samsung Galaxy S22 will include promised them very happily. Many changes have been integrated into the new brain with the collaboration of ARM, but, nevertheless, the tests that have been revealed show results that are not as impressive as we expected.

Since it was shown, there were many who doubted its capabilities and although it is a product that has yet to be polished, the first results are striking. The MySmartprice website has been in charge of sharing these first data, from the hand of the expert user Ishan Agarwal, who has had access to these from the hand of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

Behind the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor

The first tests speak for themselves with data that makes us wonder if Samsung really will not be able to give its new chip an extra push. These results could be due to the fact that it is still in its infancy. On other occasions we have been able to see the same thing and later with the optimization of smartphones, very different results have been achieved.

At the moment we know the score obtained by the Galaxy S22 Ultra leaving this data with the renewed CPU:

  • AnTuTu: 965,874 points
  • Geekbench with a single core: 1108 points
  • Geekbench with several cores: 3516 points
  • GFXbench Aztec: 109 FPS

Some numbers that are really very good if we compare them with what we saw in the Exynos 2100 and the speed of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. In this case, the difference is obvious in all the tests and makes us trust or even make the leap to the new generation of the star processor if we have the previous model of the Korean company.

  • AnTuTu: 657,150 points
  • Geekbench with a single core: 1,081 points
  • Geekbench multi-core: 3,463 points
  • GFXbench Aztec: 71.54 FPS

But what is really alarming at the moment is what other smartphones with Qualcomm and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip have been able to achieve with which it has to be compared. Above all, considering that in Spain and Europe the processor in charge of the S22 family will be that of Exynos, which would leave notable differences with the terminals on the other side of the pond. The score in this case leaves the following data:

  • AnTuTu: 977,613 points
  • Geekbench with a single core: 1.2351 points
  • Geekbench multi-core: 3,837 points
  • GFXbench Aztec: 139.25 FPS

Compared to those of the Exynos 2200 brain, they make a difference in all aspects, making the model with Qualcomm perform better when it comes to displaying graphics, processing information and speed. This brought to reality can mean just one or two seconds of difference when opening a game on mobile, a time that for some users will not attract attention, but in the long run it can be noticed with day-to-day use.

For now we have to take this data with tweezers and wait for the Galaxy S22 Ultra along with the rest of the family to reach our hands to put it to the test. Until then, we’ll have to wonder what Exynos will really be able to do against its fierce competition.
