Features of the New Samsung Exynos 2100 Processor

We are only two days away from the official presentation of the new Galaxy S21. But nothing would be of a high-end smartphone, without a brain to match. For this reason, Samsung has made the new Exynos 2100 official, a high-end processor that will see the light of the new Korean flagship and that will seriously battle mobile phones that integrate the Snapdragon 888.

The Exynos 2100 is Samsung’s new flagship processor to face 2021. This chip will be integrated into the entire Galaxy S21 series , at least in the markets where Samsung decides to integrate this variant, since as usual, the Galaxy S21 will also have variants with Snapdragon. However, the performance differences between the two chips could have been reduced more than ever.

Exynos 2100 Features

Great performance with built-in 5G modem

Samsung has detailed that this new processor is the company’s first integrated 5G chip, manufactured in a 5nm EVU process. This technology offers up to 20% less power consumption, or 10% $ overall performance over the previous 7nm generation. The chip consists of a maximum performance ARM Cortex-X1 core that can operate at up to 2.9 GHz, three high-performance Cortex-A78 cores, and four low-power Cortex-A55 cores.

If we look at the Qualcomm chip closely, we will see that the Snapdragon 888 also uses a three-cluster structure with the Cortex X1, A78 and A55 cores. The Korean company has detailed that it offers an improvement of more than 30% in multi-core performance compared to its predecessor.

Exynos-2100

Maximum power to play

Graphics processing is hand in hand with an ARM Mali-G78 GPU, with an improvement in performance by up to 46%. It also integrates various graphics processing technologies, to facilitate the highest quality in the most advanced games. In addition, it integrates the new AMIGO technology, to offer stable frame rates, and thus take advantage of the rivals in the games.

Camera compatibility

This Exynos 2100 allows to integrate sensors of up to 200 megapixels , being able to support up to six individual sensors and process four camera sensors at the same time for multi-camera experiences. As we say, it integrates 5G, supporting the sub-6Ghz and mmWave spectrum. This modem can provide a maximum download speed of up to 5.1 Gbps in sub-6 GHz and 7.35 Gbps in mmWave.

Exynos-2100

In production, but ready for the Galaxy S21

Samsung details in the press release that the Exynos 2100 is in the mass production phase . However, it will have a gala presentation in style, in two days, when the new Galaxy S21 are officially announced.
