New AV Comparatives Tests to Find out Which is the Best Antivirus

Using an antivirus when we connect to the Internet has become vital. More and more threats are hiding in the network and that, without realizing it, can endanger our PC. These programs are in charge of controlling all the connections that are made from the computer, and all the files that are executed, to find any suspicious activity that could endanger our security. Today there is a wide variety of different antivirus for PC, but which is the best?

Testing all the antivirus on the market ourselves is not feasible. For this reason, there are other platforms that do it for us and that allow us to easily know if our antivirus is protecting us adequately or if we are using inefficient security software.

Best Antivirus for Windows – September 2020

The latest AV-Comparatives security tests were carried out in September 2020. Thanks to them we can find out which antivirus offer the best protection, the ones with the highest threat detection rate, the ones that slow down the most. computer and those that give us a greater number of false positives.

According to these new tests, those antivirus programs that have offered us a perfect 100% protection are:

  • Avast
  • AVG
  • G-DATA
  • McAfee
  • Windows Defender

However, although these antivirus have obtained 100% protection, the usability leaves a little to be desired. All of them have returned more or less false positives to users, with G-DATA generating the fewest false positives, Avast, AVG and McAfee the intermediate ones, and Windows Defender the most.

On the other hand, the antivirus that protect us the worst are Trend Micro , for having the lowest detection rate of all those analyzed, and Panda Antivirus , for having a disproportionate false positive rate. K7 and Norton are also antivirus that trigger false positives and that, if we are not careful with them, could endanger the stability and integrity of our PC.

We can see in depth the results of the tests in the following link .
