In September 2024, Apple brought us the Apple Watch Series 10, a lighter, larger screen, but kept many of the features the same as the model before it. There isn’t much in the way of new software, but the new design could be what stands out for a lot of buyers.
The key Features of the Apple Watch Series 10
The most notable features among this one are the larger and brighter display. The new OLED panel is thinner with borders and 2,000 nits of brightness, both necessary for improved outdoor visibility — especially for those that enjoy the outdoors.
Device location accuracy is improved by the addition of an Ultra Wideband (UWB) 2 chip. It both helps users find their iPhone or other compatible devices more easily. Health features such as ECG, blood oxygen monitoring, and irregular heart rhythm alerts continue on into Series 9, while new apnea detection feature, which we’ve been carrying on Series 9, is also on here now.
The Apple Watch Series 10 gets an upgraded battery, improving its track record in terms of precision tracking (down to 0.001 calories and 0.001 second) and display (thanks to always-on HDR, which delivers the color range a panel can support without draining the battery between frames) while offering 18 hours of use or up to 36 hours with low-power mode. The watch still includes water resistance up to 50 meters as with previous models, and still offers fast charging via USB-C.
Models and Sizes
The Apple Watch Series 10 comes in two different sizes, with either GPS or GPS + Cellular connectivity:
- 42mm with GPS
- 46mm with GPS
- 42mm with GPS and Cellular
- 46mm with GPS and Cellular
With Cellular versions straight, you can make calls and texts using an eSIM and it’s an excellent choice for those that assume iPhone goes with them.
Pricing
The price of the Apple Watch Series 10 will vary by size and connectivity options. As of its launch:
- 42mm with GPS: €449
- 46mm with GPS: €479
- 42mm with GPS and Cellular: €569
- 46mm with GPS and Cellular: €599
The price difference between the GPS and Cellular versions was once about €100, but this year it’s €120 and you’ll want to weigh the extra cost of the featured eSIM against it.
