Looking at the next generation of the higher-end Samsung Galaxy, the company seems willing to put everything on the table and the latest leak makes its idea clearer. After having used a 12 Mpx sensor in the main one in the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S21, a great evolutionary leap seems to come with the Samsung Galaxy S22 to mark a before and after in Samsung’s photography.
Rumors have been around for a long time, especially after the introduction of Samsung’s latest Isocell sensor, but it is not until now that some light appears. Twitter user @FrontTron is the one who has revealed the new information about the cameras of the next Samsung Galaxy and possibly the Plus model, allowing us to dream about what is to come.
Versatile triple camera on the Samsung Galaxy S22
Following a strategy similar to that of the last generation, the main sensor will be the one with the greatest detail, the second will be destined to the wide angle and finally we will find a telephoto lens as the user anticipates us. But the biggest change will be in the possibilities that these lenses will present, improving the main camera with 50 Mpx , so it is very likely that the sensor chosen is the Isocell GN2 developed by Samsung and already used successfully in the Mi 11 Ultra.
A sensor capable of capturing more light thanks to its size of 1 / 1.12 inches and that also allows a much faster focus, achieving capabilities more similar to those obtained by the human eye. The wide-angle lens will be 12 Mpx, possibly remaining in this case the same as the one we already have in the Galaxy S21, something that we also see in the last sensor, the one for the telephoto lens that will also be 12 Mpx with the ability to offer a lossless 3x zoom. A series of cameras that could coincide with those of the Galaxy S22 Plus, although the change would again be in the telephoto lens to give even more scope.
When will the Galaxy S22 arrive?
Although it is still too early to think about its launch date, it is expected that its turn will arrive in the first quarter of 2022, as usual. We do not know if in a new edition of the MWC or in an exclusive event, but what is certain is that the cameras of the Galaxy S22 are giving a lot to talk about and from now on we have to know more clearly everything they can offer , in addition to its design that in the last generation gave an important change to be recognizable at a glance.
