Familiars.io, a Game Adapted to Be Able to Play from a Tweet

Familiars io

Whoever says that Twitter is boring is because they don’t know who to follow or that there are games that can be played directly from a tweet. Yes, you probably remember the MS-DOS ones that were available for a while. Although if you want to try them now, take advantage of the fact that  Familiars.io has made the leap to Twitter. At least do it while he’s active too.

The game that you can enjoy from a tweet

There are numerous games that you can enjoy from your web browser . Some of them are very simple and others are much more elaborate. What’s more, there are even adaptations of classic console games that, thanks to the capabilities of current equipment, can be played without the need for any additional installation. Which is great for killing those times when you don’t know what to do. Although they are also a danger if you start playing during office hours.

Familiars.io is a game that was launched a little over a year ago and despite its simple mechanics, we could even say minimalist, it has its appeal as it reminds one of those GameBoy titles that became so popular years ago. For example, Pokémon is one of them and you may also remember him a lot because you could basically say that they share the idea of exploring and capturing creatures.

Well, now Familiars.io has made the leap to Twitter. Taking advantage of the advantages offered by Player Cards to create tweets that allow the user to interact, they have embedded the game and you can play it both from the web version of Twitter and from the native applications.

All you have to do to play it is go to that tweet that we hit above and you can automatically start playing. If you do it from the browser, you can use the keys on your keyboard to move around the stage and interact. And if you do it from a mobile device, then similar, with the only difference that you will have to use the touch controls to move. But it is something that in a matter of seconds you will know how to do.

Play while you can

This adaptation or version of Familiars.io, depending on what you want to call it, is probably not active for a long time. As already indicated in The Verge,  Twitter has a series of rules that developers must comply with when using these interactive cards. If not, the company could withdraw them and prevent their use.

The latter happened already in 2015 when I deactivated a series of classic MS-DOS games that were released taking advantage of this same functionality. Therefore, it is very likely that the same will happen as you gain visibility. But while that happens or not, the truth is that if you are curious you should take advantage of what it is like to play a video game directly from a tweet. And if the title convinces you when you don’t know what to play, then stick with the original version of Familiars.io to be used through the browser
