Xumo, the new alternative to Tivify and Pluto with 200 free channels

FAST televisions ( free ad-supported streaming television ) are booming. Two of the best-known platforms for watching free television over the Internet may be Pluto TV and Tivify, two of the most complete services, but there are also other alternatives such as Distro TV, Rlaxx TV or Xumo, the last major competitor in this market.

Ad-funded, these platforms offer an ever-expanding catalog and literally hundreds of channels to watch. So you can try XUMO and see if it is what you were looking for.

Xumo

Xumo, new free Internet television

Xumo, pronounced “ZOOM-oh,” is the name of the ad-supported free streaming TV (FAST) service that Comcast acquired in 2020 in a deal worth more than $100 million. Xumo is now the name of the joint venture that Comcast formed early last year with Charter, looking to build “a complete entertainment ecosystem” that includes streaming devices, content, and a platform for content and advertising partners.

After operating outside our borders for some time, Xumo is going to officially arrive in Spain , expanding a list of markets that the United States was already on and to which Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Brazil and Mexico will be added.

This alternative to Tivify and Pluto TV wants to stand up with a huge list of channels in which you can find more than 200 totally free simply at the cost of certain advertising breaks (as in DTT, wow). Taking a look at its content offer, practically no genre is missing . There are film channels, series, news, documentaries, cooking, fashion, etc.

We are not going to review all of them, because there may also be variations depending on the device, but for example there is Euronews, USA Today, The Hollywood Reporter, People TV, Billboard, Now This, People Are Awesome, Vanity Fair, Xplore, Motorvision, Free Food TV , Vogue, World Poker Tour, Fox News, etc. In case of encountering regional blocking, you can always use a VPN for masking.

Compatibility and availability

This platform is compatible with a large number of devices , including Smart TVs with Android TV/Google TV, Hisense, Magnavox, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Sony and VIZIO, as well as the Amazon Fire TV Stick. LG Channels, powered by Xumo, is available for free on LG Smart TVs through its channel lineup.
