What would our perfect iPhone 13 be like? We discuss it in this article, being that, pure wishes without relying on rumors. In this writing we are very demanding and although we are sure that not everything will come, that by asking it is not.
Our wishes for the iPhone 13
Beyond a powerful device, with an iOS 15 that accompanies it and optimizes it to the maximum, these are some of the features that we most expect in The Bitten Apple that Apple’s iPhone 13 adds, if it finally ends up being called that. There are 9 months until its presentation or at least that is expected if there are no delays like those of 2020, but we think that this is why it is a good time to mark a wish list when characteristics are hardly known.
120 Hz refresh rate
The iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max had to have come with this refresh rate that would double at the usual 60 Hz and that they have finally ended up arriving. Apple discarded it for not being able to guarantee that autonomy was efficient, especially considering the inclusion of 5G. In 2021 in which 3 years will have passed since some competitors began to add this refresh rate, it is time for Apple to do the same.
A real 5G outside the United States
The mmWave technology and antenna that enable true 5G connection of the iPhone 12 is only available in the United States. This is probably due to the brand’s commercial agreements with telephone companies in the country, but we hope that in 2021 the same iPhone can be sold around the world and with the best possible technology. Also in this sense we hope that WiFi 6E connectivity will be allowed .
Goodbye to ports or at least USB-C
If the rumors come true and Apple decides to remove all ports, we expect the company to add a MagSafe charger to the box to polish the absence. Failing that, we would expect a USB-C standard that already arrives a few years late, the iPhone being the only device of the brand that still does not have models that adapt to this connector.
128GB to 1TB of storage
The current ‘Pro’ models already start with 128 GB of storage, but we believe that it would be very positive if this were also fulfilled in the standard and ‘mini’ versions. And despite the fact that the top 512 GB is already a very good capacity, it would not be too much to find 1 TB versions for the most demanding, especially considering that photographs in ProRAW take up more space.
Bye bye ‘notch’, now it’s your turn
4 years will meet the famous iPhone eyebrow in September next year. We know how complicated it is to remove it by having to insert the sensors that allow Face ID to be the most efficient and secure face unlocking method on the market. Therefore, we could come to settle for a reduction of this.
That Touch ID returns in two variants
Preventive masks against COVID-19 have shown us that Touch ID is still a very necessary security system and that masks are the worst ally of Face ID. For this reason, we hope that Apple will add the fingerprint sensor again as a complement to the facial unlocking and that it will do so in the lock button in the cheapest iPhone 13 and with a sensor under the screen in the ‘Pro’ models.
Two long-awaited lenses for the camera
Those of us who have been able to test the spectacular x50 and x100 telephoto lenses of Samsung or Huawei devices can attest that they may not show the best result in terms of quality, but they give something that in many moments can be very useful. Being able to see something like this on the iPhone would be spectacular. Also a macro lens that until now has not been released on an iPhone and that would open a new range of possibilities to the most fans of taking photos with their mobile. In the same way, we hope that functions will continue to be added thanks to the LiDAR sensor .
Let the flat edges follow
We fell in love with the iPhone 4 with its straight sides and its following generations continued to do so, until the iPhone 6 changed this aesthetic. With the iPhone 12 it was rescued and we hope that it will continue to be maintained in the next generation models, being a differential design element with respect to the competition.
Best battery in entry-level models
We cannot complain about the autonomy of the iPhone 12 Pro despite having reduced its battery capacity compared to the predecessors, since in the end they have managed to last the same and even longer. However, we hope that in the most basic models, especially the ‘mini’, it can improve to reach the end of the day with intensive use. Also in relation to this we hope a better fast charge and that reversible charging is finally included to be able to recharge accessories such as AirPods and even our friends’ cell phones.
A fair solution to the charger issue
Xiaomi has done with its Mi 11 something that many of us expected from Apple: not to include a power adapter in the box, but to give the user the option to purchase it separately at no additional cost. This ultimately puts the ball in the user’s court and is really an environmental measure and not a cost savings, which is clearly happening.
That they keep the price for another year
Despite the cliché that Apple always raises prices, we have been able to compare it with other high-end competitors and those of the apple are the ones that have increased in price the least in recent years. What’s more, comparing the different models that it has been launching, we can see that it has maintained the same price for 3 years and has even lowered it in cases such as the iPhone 11 compared to its predecessor, the iPhone XR. We hope that the company continues down this path with its iPhone 13.
