7 Tricks to Improve the Performance of Android Phone

Technology is moving fast, yes, but the needs we have of it too. Therefore, although the processors are becoming more powerful, we have more RAM and more optimized operating systems, the technology that is closer to us, our mobile phones , continue to have fluency problems especially if we talk about the range Lower devices.

And that’s just what I’m coming to tell you today. If you want to know the best tips to optimize your Android phone and, therefore, work as quickly as possible, read this article.

How to improve the performance of your Android phone

Taking into account that all the tricks that I am going to talk to you about are quite easy, we go from the simplest to the tips that are a bit “more complicated”.

1. Keep only what is necessary

The first advice, as I said, is the most obvious. And, having as little as possible on the smartphone helps a lot to improve stability and make it work faster.

By this I do not mean that you only use the telephone to call (who is calling today with the telephone?), Or that you have it as a paperweight. But try to have what you really use. What is the use of having an app that we haven’t used for 50 months or 50 different games if we don’t really use them? And the same goes for the photos and videos that we keep on the phone.

What I recommend is that you delete the applications that you do not use normally. Like I recommend that you pass the photos and videos to a microSD card, a hard drive or, and perhaps it is the smartest thing, to use a backup of your photos and videos in Google Photos .

2. Keep the Homescreen organized

The previous advice is also the foundation of the following trick. And, as having fewer applications or files makes your smartphone work better, having the home screen organized and with few widgets (since they are being updated in the background and that consumes resources) will also make everything better.

And this will also be useful for our productivity and to prevent us from having apps or widgets that duplicate services to us.

3. Download maintenance apps, use them and then delete them

There are many applications of the App Cleaner and Ccleaner type that promise to have our optimized phone and that it goes at maximum speed. But the reality is that in many occasions they do not fulfill what they promise.

After trying many of them, my recommendation is that you download them, clean your phone and then delete them. And this process can be done once a month to keep the smartphone “clean” and optimized as far as junk files are concerned.

Personally, the one that worked best for me is the Google Files app, which allows us to clean the phone from junk files or even share it with other users easily.

4. Avoid heavy apps. Download the Lite version

There are heavier applications, or that require more resources , although also (in many cases) we can download them in their Lite versions (which fulfill the functions of the original app but consume less resources or occupy less space on our phone).

Some of the apps that consume more resources accompany us in our day to day: Facebook, Instagram, Skype, etc.

In the event that these Lite versions do not convince you, you can always make “normal” applications not run in the background by closing them in multitasking, or by entering the application manager (in the system settings), and forcing your exit.

5. Keep the phone updated

There are many times that we forget such obvious things as updating our phone .

If we have a relatively current smartphone (about two years old), I strongly recommend you always update it to the latest version. But, if your phone is more than two years old, it may not be the most advisable, although if necessary, you may not even get important updates (things from the manufacturers and their support periods).

6. Reduce the speed of transitions

Transitions is perhaps one of the most indicative aspects of the speed of a smartphone. In many cases, the speed of these is quite slow even when we take our new phone out of the box. But this speed can be modified.

If we go to the information section of the phone, within the settings of our device, and press repeatedly on the “build number” section, a new section will be activated in settings called “Developer options”.

In this section you can modify many things that, directly, I do not recommend that you modify unless you know exactly what you are doing, since otherwise you could affect the performance and operation of your equipment. But what I do recommend is that you locate the three sections of “Scale of animation”. If we modify the values to the minimum possible, we will notice that the transitions go much faster and that, therefore, the feeling of fluidity of the device increases. In this way, when moving from one application to another, our phone will not apply so many effects on the animation, and the window step will be faster (but less fluid and colorful, of course).

7. Turn off / restart the phone

If after applying all these tips you still notice slowness in the device, you should try to turn off or restart your device.

There are occasions in which some process of the operating system or of a third-party app may be “caught” and not finalized. For this reason, if none of the above tips work, turning off the phone causes those processes to end completely.

I still notice slowness, is there any solution?

And now yes. If you continue to notice slowness after all these tips, we only have two alternatives: settle for the device we currently have , or think about buying a new one .

Logically these tips do not work miracles. If you have a device from several years ago the hardware gives for what it gives and we can not ask “pears to the elm”. In that case, I hope these tips have been useful to give a second life to your android phone.
