We are facing two of the most anticipated high-end of 2020, on the one hand the Samsung Galaxy S20 and on the other the Xiaomi Mi 10 . Undoubtedly some of both smartphones will be the purchase option for many users and so that we have no doubts about what we have to buy, we review and compare all its sections.
Both Xiaomi and Samsung have taken a step in connectivity to include 5G networks in both smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy S20 has a version designed in these networks and another with 4G, while the Xiaomi Mi 10 offers us a single version with 5G .
Different design and screens with hole in screen
In the aesthetic section of the Samsung Galaxy S20 we find a glass construction, while the Xiaomi Mi 10 bets on the aluminum alloy to reduce costs and where both at the rear only includes the lenses. The dimensions of both terminals exceed 150 mm high in a similar aspect ratio, specifically 20: 9 in the S20 and 19.5: 9 in the Mi 10.

The screens of the Samsung Galaxy S20 and Xiaomi Mi 10 have curvature, although in this case something more disguised for Samsung. Both panels are AMOLED, on the one hand the Samsung with 6.2 inches in maximum resolution WQHD + , compared to this the Xiaomi Mi 10 has a screen of 6.67 inches in FullHD + resolution. These two options have HDR10 + to enjoy the contents even better, although Samsung reaches the 120 Hz that we can regulate, while Xiaomi stays at 90 Hz.
Processor and configuration
The one in charge of moving both terminals is its processor, where we find different bets, on the one hand Samsung relies on the Exynos 990 manufactured by it in 7 nanometers with a clock frequency of 2.73 Ghz and on the other hand Xiaomi bets on the prestigious Qualcomm and the latest model, the Snapdragon 865 also manufactured in 7 nanometers with a frequency of 2.84 Ghz. Both processors will be able to offer us the best results, although this will have a great relationship with the software we will talk about later.
Next to the brain is the RAM where both coincide with bets of 8 and 12 GB of type LPDDR5, the storage for Xiaomi allows us to choose between 128 or 256 GB , while the Galaxy S20 only allows us 128 GB although expandable by microSD of up to 1 TB , something that does not include the Mi 10.

The biggest fight is in the cameras
While the Samsung Galaxy S20 offers us triple rear camera with a main lens of 12 Mpx and f / 1.8 aperture, the Xiaomi Mi 10 raises its bet with 108 Mpx and aperture f / 1.6 in the main. We pass to the second lens, aimed at the wide angle , section where Samsung has 12 Mpx and f / 2.2 aperture against 13 Mpx and Xiaomi f / 2.4 aperture, finding similar results in these lenses.
The third lens no longer matches in terms of purpose, Samsung offers us a 64 Mpx telephoto lens that promises a 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digital, in turn Xiaomi opts for a 2 Mpx lens to help focus and improve portrait mode . Finally the Mi 10 includes a last macro lens of 2 Mpx with which we will be able to photograph the smallest objects.

Turning to its front cameras, we find 10 Mpx for Samsung with a hole centered on the screen and 20 Mpx in the lens also with hole but in a corner of the Xiaomi Mi 10, both with f / 2.0 aperture. The video recording especially stands out in the Galaxy S20 by offering 8K resolution , in both cases we will have optical and digital stabilizer to get perfect recordings.
Large batteries and full connectivity
The numbers that we find in these batteries prepare us for good autonomy in both cases, the Samsung Galaxy S20 with 4,000 mAh but a smaller screen and the Xiaomi Mi 10 with 4,780 mAh . The fast charge is present in both 25W for Samsung that is surpassed by the 30W of Xiaomi, they share that yes wireless and reversible charging to get more out of it.
Connectivity can be better, including as we mentioned 5G options in the S20 and being a feature present in all Xiaomi Mi 10. The fingerprint reader is under the screen in both and they forget the audio jack in favor of Type C, They also have Bluetooth 5 LE in addition to NFC .
One UI 2.0 vs MIUI 11
Both terminals works on Android 10, but of course with its layers of customization, on the one hand Samsung with the renewed One UI 2.0 that allows us to enjoy several options with a modern design , easy to use and that has conquered many users. Opposite the Xiaomi Mi 10 has one of the most praised personalization layers, MIUI 11 that competes with EMUI 10 and offers us many additions, own apps and countless adjustments to customize our smartphone .

In addition to the aesthetics or the additions, the battery management is very related to these layers of customization where Xiaomi has the ones to gain by doing a very good job in recent years, although Samsung has the possibility to adjust many parameters that will make it last much longer.
Very different prices
While the base option of the Samsung Galaxy S20 is available for about 909 euros in Spain, the Xiaomi Mi 10 does not yet have a fixed price, but in exchange they are 530 euros , a big difference. The options of both terminals save as we have seen many differences that we must take into account, for example 5G connectivity, storage conditions that reach 1TB in Samsung or its cameras where the Samsung telephoto lens is surprising and Xiaomi 108 Mpx make the same

Which is better buy?
It is difficult to opt for one of the two, although if we want a smartphone with 5G technology , the most economical and recommended bet is the Xiaomi Mi 10 that has an attractive design and can offer us the best results. On the other hand if 5G connectivity is not yet for us, we can buy the Samsung Galaxy S20 right now to take full advantage of its cameras, battery and without forgetting the IP68 water and dust resistance , a very complete bet.
