The Galaxy S20 Ultra has set the bar very high and is undoubtedly one of the most powerful smartphones of the moment. But at the end of 2019 we also saw the almighty Huawei Mate 30 Pro appear , a smartphone that has not been able to show its full potential due to the US veto. But today we wanted to face both terminals to see their main differences and advantages of one over another.
As we have indicated on other occasions, it gives the feeling that Samsung has wanted to launch its full potential with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, since in many cases having a presentation scheduled at the beginning of the year, it gives some advantage to the rivals that arrive a few months later With more advanced technologies. The Huawei Mate 30 Pro on the other hand, is the most powerful smartphone in the history of Huawei , and did not deserve to end in the middle of a tortuous commercial war between giants.

Screen and dimensions
If you look at its screen, the Galaxy S20 Ultra shows a considerably larger size, reaching 6.9 inches with 3,200 x 1,440 pixels , compared to 6.53 inches and 2,400 x 1,176 pixels of the Mate 30 Pro. The Samsung terminal reaches 515 dpi compared to 409 of the Huawei terminal. Even its screen ratio is different, being 20: 9 in the S20 Ultra by 18.5: 9. Both are compatible with HDR10 but only the S20 Ultra has a 120 Hz refreshment handle.
It is curious that both terminals have the same thickness of 8.8 millimeters, but the difference in weight is only 20 grams between the two. The Galaxy S20 Ultra weighs 220 grams against the 198 grams of the Mate 30 Pro, something that may have to do with the larger battery of the Samsung terminal, as we will see later.
Processor and memory
If we lift the hood we see the two most powerful processors of Samsung and Huawei to date such as the Exynos 990 and the Kirin 990. However, a big difference is found in the RAM, which is 12 or 16 GB in the S20 Ultra, while the Mate 30 Pro stays in the 8 GB of RAM. Both can expand their memory, but the Galaxy S20 Ultra allows up to 1 TB while the Mate 30 Pro does the same up to 256 GB.

Cameras, many cameras
We found a configuration of four cameras on the back of both devices. However, the Galaxy S20 Ultra has launched the most powerful combination on the market, with 108 megapixel main sensor, 64 megapixel telephoto sensor, 12 megapixel wide angle and depth sensor. The Mate 30 Pro on the other hand sports a 40 megapixel main sensor with a 20 megapixel wide angle, 8 megapixel telephoto lens and ToF sensor.

The two teams boast zoom, but we see that at its maximum capacity the S20 Ultra reaches a digital zoom of 100X while the Huawei reaches 50X. The Galaxy S20 Ultra has a selfie sensor housed on the screen that reaches 40 megapixels. The Mate 30 Pro on the other hand, has the classic eyebrow-shaped notch to accommodate a 32 megapixel front selfie sensor.
Connections and battery
The two terminals can be connected to 5G networks, the Mate 30 Pro does so with a 5G variant, while the two versions of the Galaxy S20 Ultra are native 5G. Nor do they lack an on-screen fingerprint sensor and other important connections such as the NFC or Bluetooth 5.0.
As for autonomy, Samsung has given everything to integrate a 5,000 mAh battery that should power the large screen of the S20 Ultra. The Mate 30 Pro is a beast of autonomy with its 4,500 mAh . Both have fast, wireless and reverse charging technology. Both teams move within Android 10 camouflaged in their respective layers of customization (OneUI 2.0 and EMUI 10) although the Mate 30 Pro arrives without Google services, although they can be installed easily using a simple application.
Price difference
We have seen that the Galaxy S20 Ultra has taken advantage of the margin time that separates it from the Mate 30 Pro to launch a technically more advanced smartphone. However, paying this advance will mean a disbursement of 360 euros, which is the difference between the basic version of both devices. At this time we can pre-buy a Galaxy S20 Ultra for 1,359 euros, for the 1,099 euros of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro.
