CPU control with Ryzen Controller
In the main window we find 5 options of which four of them will interest us.
Depending on our computer, which APU has and its cooling capacity, we must introduce sensible values within the application in order to increase the performance of our Ryzen without damaging it.
The temperature limit , in degrees centigrade, allows us to establish what is the maximum temperature that we will allow our APU to reach, for now we recommend a maximum value of 90 degrees, until you have full confidence that you can increase this limit without reaching those high temperatures.
TDP , is the TDP that we want our APU to have, the maximum value will depend on the number of cores and base TDP, we recommend increasing the base value by a maximum of 10 W.
Boost TDP , is the maximum TDP value that can be reached and we recommend a top of 12W above the original TDP.
Min TDP , is the minimum value that we want our APU to have, we recommend setting it to the same value as the TDP CPU for games.
In this section we will find 4 different values which are all very interesting
The minimum / maximum clock frequency of the graph allows us to control the minimum and maximum frequency of the clock frequency of the GPU integrated in the APU that we recommend as values for this field, the minimum and maximum equal to the maximum and the maximum be 50 MHz initially above the factory speed and test.
The minimum / maximum frequency of the Infnity Fabric , no matter how hard you try to raise this value above the maximum frequency of the IF, it will not give any results, so for maximum performance we recommend the minimum and maximum as the maximum value of the IF that It is obtained by dividing the speed at which our RAM runs by two, for example if our RAM runs at 2400 MHz, our IF is merging at 1200 MHz maximum and this value cannot be increased.
VRM Current : We have a single really interesting value that would be the current that we let reach the VRM of the motherboard of our laptop, it is difficult to calculate this value and know what is the maximum that we must put, since each motherboard is very different and there are some very badly cooled VRMs that can even cause loss of power and others well-cooled that if we put too much we can cause damage to our hardware irreversibly, so it is advisable to be careful with the values we enter in Ryzen Controller because a Great power carries great responsibility.
Configurations customized by us
Ryzen Controller allows us to save some presets locally so that we can quickly apply the one we need at any time, for example in the image above you can see how there are different configuration levels in which there are two for tests to test which is better than the other and one of low performance and low consumption for when we want to make the most of the computer’s battery and squeeze every possible minute of use.
It also allows us to see what others have shared and download a list of presets from other users so that we can download settings that other people have tried and see if they work well for us with our laptops, although the best thing is to test yourself. until you find the perfect computer configuration.
Ryzen Controller Configuration
The configuration section of Ryzen Controller allows us to start the application when we start the computer , it also allows us to start it minimized so that it does not bother us and it allows us to minimize it in the system tray instead of the taskbar so that it does not take up space.
If we encounter any problem that our computer automatically restarts the configuration that we apply to it, we have an option that every so often that we establish in seconds allows us to periodically apply the configuration that we want.
