The truth is that sharing the Netflix account in Spain and other parts of the world is something tremendously widespread. In fact, it is already part of popular culture. On the other hand, this has also made it possible to withstand the price increases made by Netflix since its launch. Right now, the most suitable plan to share is the Premium with 4 accesses and 4K quality for 17.99 euros per month, about 4.5 euros per person. However, we also know that the popular streaming platform has been testing formulas to avoid it for some time and now it seems to have taken the definitive step to put an end to it. Netflix will charge for account sharing in these countries.

Although the legal conditions of Netflix were clear in this regard and, in point 4.2 we can read the following:
“The Netflix service and all content viewed through the service is for your personal, non-commercial use and may not be shared with individuals outside of your household. During your Netflix membership, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access the Netflix service and view Netflix content. Except for the foregoing, no right, title or benefit will be transferred to you. You agree not to use the Service for public display.”
The reality is that they have never “messed” with the people who share their account . Currently, it is rare to meet people who do not, being the usual practice both in Spain and in other countries. It seems to us that this measure will not affect us, for now, but it will in some countries.

Pay to watch Netflix away from home
In a blog post this afternoon, Netflix explains that they have always made it easy to share accounts between members living under the same roof with separate profiles or multi-user plans, such as standard or premium. However, they believe that this has created confusion in users and many have chosen to do it with family or friends, or even with people they do not know through forums or pages specialized in sharing accounts.
Netflix does not hide that this has impacted its income, although it has used the euphemism of “it prevents us from investing in great television series” . For all this, they have devised a formula that is going to raise blisters and that will involve paying a fee for sharing Netflix with people outside our home. This will apply, for now, in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru.
We can add up to two additional members in the standard and premium plans, with personalized login and password, in exchange for 2,380 CLP in Chile, 2.99 USD in Costa Rica and 7.9 PEN in Peru . Users of all plans will be able to transfer their current profile to a new account without problems.
