Since the different online services came to stay, the use of traditional calls has been significantly reduced, but sometimes it is still the best option. This type of call has many options that we sometimes overlook, such as the one that allows us to combine calls between several people so that we do not have to repeat the same thing several times.
This is an alternative to video calls, but with the advantage that we do not have to depend on a WiFi connection or have data in our rate. It behaves like one more call, but with three or more people in total. Another advantage is that we do not need any application, specific Android version or iOS, since all mobiles are compatible with this type of conference call that can have so many uses.
How to merge calls on Android
To be able to talk to several people at the same time through a call on Android we will have to activate call waiting, something that we already knew before. To do this, we only have to access the phone application of our mobile and dial * 43 # accompanied by pressing the call button. Instantly the option will be activated and we can continue with the steps:
- To start using this option we only have to receive a call from two people.
- Once we accept both, the option “Combine” will appear.
- When we touch on it, the calls are joined and the call will appear as a “conference call”.
Multi-party calling options
In addition to making the call, we have at our disposal a series of buttons with options. The first one with the name “Add” allows us to join even more participants to the call . But we also have the option “Manage” with which we can remove someone from the conference call or hang up directly with a person.
Merge calls on iPhone
In iPhones things change slightly, as we can do so by activating call waiting as we have seen in Android, but also in a much faster and easier way. Just by making a call with another person, we will be able to press the “Add call” button, from which we will be able to choose another person from our agenda or a new number to make a call with several people on the device.
An advantage of the iPhone is that we can also make a video call with FaceTime from the phone app itself, in case at any time we need to see each other’s faces.
