LG K50 vs LG K5s: Differences, Which One is Better

All manufacturers have an entry range with which to satisfy less demanding users. For many, it does not have the last of the latest to have a smartphone connected and that responds to their needs. This is the case of the LG K50 and K50s , two mobiles that today we wanted to compare to see their main differences.

LG is not the only manufacturer that adds an “S” to its phones as a sign of the technical improvement of a model that is already on the market. However, the LG K50 and K50s do not have excessive technical differences , but the ones we find are of relevant importance.

Screen and dimensions

First, taking a look at the size of the screens, we see that both terminals have an IPS LCD panel and HD + resolution. However, the K50s have a larger size, reaching 6.5 inches, compared to the 6.26 inches of the LG K50. Likewise, the K50s manages to be thinner with its 8.2 millimeters, but heavier, reaching 194 grams. For its part, the K50 has 8.7 millimeters thick and 170 grams in weight.

Same brain

Under the hood there are few surprises and no improvement. Both the K50 and the K50s sport the same MediaTek Helio P22, an input range processor manufactured in a 12nm process and that yields with 8 cores at a 2Ghz relay speed. They are accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, which in both cases is expandable by microSD cards up to 512 GB.

The camera improves

In the section of the cameras we see one of the most important differences, and that can make sense of this review of the K50s. In the K50 we find a double rear camera with 13 + 2 megapixel sensors. The LG K50s increases this capacity with a triple camera of 13 + 2 + 5 megapixels . The advantage is in a wide angle sensor that increases the possibilities in the shots and the zoom of the K50s. The front sensor stays the same in both mobiles with 13 megapixels.

Connections and battery

We also found the main connections at the terminals. In addition, the two move with Android 9 Pie. The latest news about the update to Android 10 have listed the LG K50, without knowing anything about the LG K50s, although we assume that if the first one is updated, we can wait for the arrival in the second one. We also see that the battery has increased markedly in the K50s, up to 4,000 mAh , compared to 3,500 mAh of its younger brother. Both have a rear fingerprint sensor, a location that is still present in the cheapest mobile phones on the market.

Prices

If we take into account the prices to choose the purchase for one model or another, we see a difference of 20 euros . At this moment we find an LG K50 for about 145 euros , compared to 165 euros for the K50s . The user will have to weigh if the triple camera and the battery plus of the new model compensate for this over-cost, or if it is an input range terminal, it is not worth it.
