Until very recently, Xiaomi felt comfortable as an exponent of a quality / price ratio that few could overcome. The battle is about to become more interesting after the arrival of Realme and with Vivo knocking on the doors of the European market. In the field of activity wristbands, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is one of the most popular products, which now has an arch-enemy after the presentation of the new Realme Band.
Keep in mind that this is the first Realme step in the world of wearables. His Realme Band, is a release that we might consider discreet and that does not arrive with superior technical airs . However, I will really play the price trick, trying to surpass Xiaomi once again as it has done with the first mobile phones that it has launched in our country.

Screen and dimensions
When we look closely at the Mi Band 4 and the Realme Band, we see a slightly different conception on their screens. The Mi Band 4 has a 0.95 inch OLED screen with a resolution of 120 x 240 pixels. The Realme Band for its part reaches 0.96 inches with AMOLED technology and a resolution of 160 x 80 pixels. The Realme Band is somewhat thinner and lighter with its 16 mm and 20 grams, compared to 18 mm and 22 grams of the Mi Band 4.
Both bracelets are made of plastic and silicone , and allow the user to choose the design by exchanging straps. The Mi Band 4 has more travel due to its time in the market, so the offer and the possibilities of finding more models to exchange is on the side of Xiaomi.
They can get wet, but not the same
As for the resistance, the Mi Band 4 holds up to 5ATM of pressure , this means that it can be submerged up to 50 meters. This means that you can get wet and perform swimming functions without problems. The Realme Band has IP68 certification, which immunizes it against water and dust, but its ability to submerge is limited to 1.5 meters.
Functions and dedicated app
In the usability section, the two bracelets perform the same functions. That is, they can measure all physical activity, heart rate, sleep, calories burned and act as a telephone search engine or notification manager. The Mi Band 4 has its own dedicated app, called Mi Fit and allows you to control the entire wearable ecosystem of the company. Realme has done something similar, launching Realme Link, an app that is already available on Google Play and the App Store, and has the same goal.
Connections and compatibility
As for the connections, the Realme Band has not taken advantage of its advantage over time to launch with technologies in which the Mi Band 4 falters like the NFC. It is compatible with Bluetooth 4.2 while the Mi Band 4 does it with the Bluetooth 5.0 standard . For compatibility, we see that the Mi Band 4 supports Android devices from Android 4.4 or iOS 9.0, while the Real Band is from Android 5.0 and also with iOS 9.0.
The importance of the battery
Autonomy is very important in these types of devices. The Mi Band 4 has an integrated 135 mAh battery that allows it to be away from the charger for approximately 20 days. The Realme Band specifies in its data sheet that it has a 90 mAh battery, whose approximate autonomy is 10 days. Although the Mi Band 4 has an advantage in this aspect, the Realme Band offers a charging system free of additional accessories, since it can be charged directly via the built-in USB-A output.
And the prices?
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 was released at a price of 39 euros. Right now we can find it on Amazon for 29 euros . The real band, meanwhile, has been put up for sale in India in the first instance, at a price that amounts to about 19 euros. We still do not know anything about its arrival in the European market, but it is expected that its price does not exceed 25 euros , which will make it a very attractive product and a sales success almost assured.
