One of the many things that have replaced mobile devices are classic alarm clocks. Whether or not you are new to iOS, the iPhone operating system, you should know that it is possible to set alarms that can serve as an alarm clock or simply as reminders of something. Likewise, there are functions with which to configure sleep hours so as not to have to manually configure alarms. We will tell you everything in this article.

Set alarms on an iPhone
There is no alarm or alarm clock application as such in iOS, but everything is integrated into the Clock app that is installed natively. In fact, it will be impossible for you to delete that application even if you want, so surely you will have it on one of your screens. If you can’t find it, you can slide your finger from the center of the screen down to open the finder and type “clock.”
Once you are in the app, you will see that there are several tabs at the bottom, but the one that interests you for this purpose is Alarm . Click on it and you will find the possibility of adding alarms from the ‘+’ button located at the top right of the screen. Once here you will find the following options:

- Time: fundamental part in which to select the time at which you want the alarm to sound. You can configure it with the numeric keyboard or by sliding the numbers that appear on the screen.
- Repeat: you can choose the days you want the alarm to repeat. If you don’t want it to ever happen again, don’t select any day.
- Label: you can choose the name you want to appear when the alarm sounds. As it can serve as a reminder, you can put things like “take pills” or “turn off the oven.”
- Sound: within this option you will not only be able to choose the tone you want it to sound, but also the style of vibration, which is sometimes essential to wake up if we have a deep sleep.
- Snooze option: if you activate this option you will have the possibility of hitting the snooze button for up to 9 minutes. If you do not want it to appear you will have to deactivate this box.
Activate, deactivate and edit alarms
This is really the simplest and most intuitive thing in the world and everything can be accessed from the same Alarms tab within the Clock app. If you want to activate or deactivate one of the alarms already configured you will have to click on the switch that appears to the right of these. If it remains green, it is activated and if it remains gray, it is deactivated. To eliminate it, there are two options, one of them is to directly slide the alarm to the right and the other is to click on “Edit” at the top left. Precisely in this last section is where you can access to edit the alarm if you click on it, being able to configure again everything related to the time, repetition, labels and others.

While it’s playing
If the iPhone is locked and the alarm sounds, everything stops. The screen lights up, begins to sound and vibrate and will only stop if you press the “Stop” button that appears at the bottom. If you click on the “Snooze” button, what has been said in previous sections will happen, that the alarm will stop and will sound again after 9 minutes.
If the iPhone is unlocked it will also sound and vibrate, but as a visual element you will only have a banner that will appear at the top of the screen. If you click on it, the alarm will automatically stop without the possibility of snoozing it in any way so that it sounds again after 9 minutes.
Set alarms with Sleep mode
In addition to being able to set repeating alarms with the aforementioned functions, if you have an iPhone with iOS 14 or later you will also be able to enjoy the possibility of configuring the one known as “Sleep Mode”, which integrates among its functions the possibility of creating alarms . To start setting your sleep hours you must follow the following steps:
- Open the Health app.
- Go to the “Explore” tab.
- Click on the “Dream” option.
- Go to “Your schedule”.
- Set the number of hours you want to sleep and choose the time you want to go to bed.
Depending on the last two options, automatic alarms will be configured to wake you up at the chosen time, being in the end the same in functions as the classic alarms mentioned above. Of course, you will have to create different schedules if you do not want the alarm to sound at the same time each day.

Edit sleeping hours once configured
If you have already configured your sleep schedule and want to modify it, you must return to the same section of the Health app and click on ” Full schedule and options “, where you will find the options to edit the schedules configured for each day of the week. If you wish to change the next alarm exceptionally, you must click on the edit button of your schedule, the modification of which will only be effective for the next occasion without affecting the regular schedule established.
