Apple‘s contactless payment system, Apple Pay, has spread quite well throughout Spain and it is already quite common to see how someone makes a payment with their iPhone or Apple Watch. This system is also implemented in the iPad and Mac in a very similar way to be able to make payments on the web pages that are compatible as for example in the Apple Store Online itself.
The consequences of removing an Apple Pay card
But sometimes we have a card that we have added to the service and that we want to stop using. Apple allows us to change the default card in Apple Pay to avoid paying with one that is wrong. But if you want to make a card disappear altogether , you can do it in a simple way by removing it.
You should keep in mind that when you remove the Apple Pay card, it will no longer be available on other computers but this does not affect the payment method in iTunes. If you have a default card in iTunes, it is totally independent from the one we have in Wallet to pay through Apple Pay.
So you can delete an Apple Pay credit or debit card
To remove the Apple Pay card simply follow these steps:
- On the iPhone go to ‘Settings’.
- Go to the ‘Wallet and Apple Pay’ section.
- At the top we will find all the cards we have active. We must click on the card we want to remove.
- Swipe to the end and click on ‘Delete this card’.
- Confirm that you want to delete this card.
Once you have completed these steps, the card will be completely removed from Apple Pay. Obviously this operation is reversible since we can simply add a new card by following the same steps or through the Wallet application itself.
Right now there are many banks that have reached an agreement with Apple to subscribe this payment method. It is no longer strange at all to see how someone pays simply by approaching their iPhone or Apple Watch to a dataphone when this until recently was something extraordinary. Society continues to advance and the number of businesses that already have data compatible with this type of contactless technology.
Obviously it still gives enough respect to leave home without the wallet on top because normally in Spain there are some businesses that have a minimum payment to be able to use the credit card. The goal of many users is undoubtedly to advance to a society where most transactions are made through this payment system.
