The serial number or ICC of the SIM card is very valuable information, since with it we can carry out different tasks related to the card, especially when it comes to duplicating it or when providing data to the operator about the card.

While on iPhone it is easier to access this information, entering the settings / general / information and checking the ICCID field there, on Android phones the only way we have to know this number is through an app. For this, today we bring you an app called
Sim Serial Number (ICCID) that as its name suggests is specialized in this serial number of the SIM card. With it installed we can access a series of information related to the card.
Logically the most important that it shows us is the ICCID, which is displayed numerically at the top of the screen. An app with which we can copy the serial number and forward it to whoever we want through the app we need at all times, so flexibility is total.
What is the SIM serial number and what is it for?
Well, for more than we think. This number can usually be consulted on the original card in which the SIM is stamped, but in the case that this card is no longer kept, this information is stored in the SIM itself, hence we can consult it with an app. This code is made up of 19 digits . In the first two digits they are identified with the number 89, which means that it is a SIM for telecommunications. The next two digits mean the country they belong to, in the case of Spain it is with the number 34, and the rest of the number are basically the card’s serial number within the operator itself.
There are many practical cases in which the serial number of the SIM card can be useful to us. For example, when we change operators, when we request a duplicate card , when we want to block it in the event that it has been lost or stolen. It is also necessary to know this information in the case of having to change to another SIM card format.
