Among everything that mobile phones can do but us, the option of subtitles in Android could not be missing. A simple function that was integrated into Android 10 for all terminals regardless of the brand or model, although it was not until Android 11 when it began to be functional in more applications and services. This is very useful to be able to read dialogue and not have to rely solely on the voice.

To activate the subtitles we will only have to have, as we have said, at least Android 10, although even Android 11 in some terminals does not work correctly. It does not matter if we have MIUI, EMUI or Android stock, since it is one of the few functions that are shared in any model, even in those that do not have Google services. We show you how you can make it work.
Steps to activate subtitles on Android
The first thing we will have to do to activate this function is to go to the Settings of our smartphone. Although in some model it may change, first we will look for the Accessibility section. Inside we will have to locate the Subtitles option, as we show you on the screen. In case it does not appear, we can use the upper search bar in the settings to write Subtitles and automatically go to this section.

Once inside we will see that we have a button to activate the subtitles , where we are shown a preview of what they will look like. Below we can choose the language, which we recommend that you leave in default since now the translations do not work. Also to make it more accessible, by activating subtitles on Android we can customize it with sizes and styles that make it easier to read.
Subtitle problems
If once you have followed the previous steps you cannot see them, we remind you that in Android 10 there are still problems for its use and we would have to wait for Android 11 to be functional. In the case of the Google Pixel and some other models with Android without customization layers, we also have to do the following: we tap on the volume button and then we’ll tap on the button below, to activate and deactivate subtitles in Android in a faster and more comfortable.

To be able to see the subtitles we can turn to YouTube or even the Google Photos application, where some videos are automatically able to work with this option. Although it can be very useful, Google has not yet given it the value it deserves and we hope that in future updates it will continue to improve so that its implementation is complete.
