Endurance Test of iPhone 12 Pro Max and Galaxy Note20 Ultra

Undoubtedly both the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra have become the two most powerful mobiles of the moment, and most desired. This time we echo a test in which they compare the resistance of both to shocks. An interesting test considering Apple‘s new Ceramic Shield.

iPhone 12 Pro Max

Apple presented its new iPhone 12 a few weeks ago with a great novelty on its screen, the inclusion of the so-called Ceramic Shield , which is nothing more than an extra protection for the phone’s screen, something that has been noticed in successive tests.

Which of the two takes better the blows?

In recent years, the tests that we have seen of this type with the iPhone involved have ended in “total loss” for the Apple phone. This one used to end up with its front and rear glass badly damaged. To the point that on more than one occasion and two we have seen how after the test the terminal’s camera did not work. Well, in this case we echo one of the most common drop resistance tests , such as PhoneBuff.

In it we can see how both phones, the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the Samsung Galaxy Note20 Ultra are faced with identical falls, from different heights. From what we’ve seen, both phones have weathered drops very well . With some scratches on the corners, and in the case of the Note20, part of the rear glass is broken in the upper corner, next to the camera. Surprisingly and contrary to what Apple used to us, the latest top of the range of the firm has hardly suffered scratches. The glass has been slightly broken around the screen, while the Note20 has not suffered damage to the screen, its fingerprint reader working perfectly.

Now, what is surprising is found at the end of the test , in the fall from the top and on a surface that does not absorb any blow, being similar to that of the curbs of the streets. Well, in this test the iPhone used to end up useless, something that has not happened with this iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Incredibly after the crash in this extra test it has remained perfect, with hardly any scratches , on its screen and rear, and working perfectly. By contrast, the Samsung has held up very well, but has finally seen how the glass of its screen, the Gorilla Victus, has been broken. But you have to take into account the curve of the screen, which makes any protection against shocks much more fragile. Undoubtedly a test in which the iPhone has surprised, for the better, compared to its predecessors.
