We have to make sure that the information also says “Full OTA”.
We install the programs we need
First of all we are going to download Hi Suite on the computer from the official website . Once downloaded, we extract and install it like any other common program. It is very important that when starting it we do not click on updating the program and close the poster by clicking on the x. Now we close it and pass the next section.
The second thing we need is HiSuite Proxy, a program that will allow us to return to the desired version on Huawei. This program can be downloaded from this link at the bottom where it says HiSutie.Proxy.zip. When we extract it and open it, a tab will open that we will complete in the next step, very important to be able to download the version of EMUI on Huawei.
Steps in HiSuite Proxy
The program will not open a tab like the one shown in the image below and we will only have to touch the spaces that we have marked in red. First we are going to enter the URL that appears when we touch on “filelist” on the web where we enter our base version of the software. Remember that it must be a FullOTA version and where we know that we can install Google services if that is what we want.
We are going to copy the entire URL but we will delete until it puts F1 / also keeping this last bar as you can see in the image. In the following table we are going to paste what is right next to the date on the same firmware website. Finally we mark where it says Point Version and we give SETUP. Now we leave this program open after completing all the steps in a black tab and we open Hi Suite, the official program without closing anything.
We connect the mobile to the computer
Now with the original cable we are recommended to connect our Huawei mobile to the computer. On the mobile we will have to accept the file transfer and the program will ask us to activate HDB, which we will do just by looking for it in the settings and HiSuite will also be installed on the mobile. We give you all the necessary permissions and connect you with the unique number that you will give us.
Once completed, a red dot will appear on the update system button in a few seconds. By clicking on it, the new version should appear with the update to the EMUI firmware that we have chosen previously. In our case for the Huawei P40 Pro the one that ends in .131.
Now we just have to click on update and the system will complete all the steps until it is completed. It is important to remember that at this point we need to have the WiFi connected to the mobile or otherwise the update cannot be downloaded.
