Working in the cloud is a mode of operation that over time is becoming more common for millions of users. Whether for professional or more personal reasons, platforms and services of this type are increasingly widespread, such as Google Drive .
There are companies that are betting heavily on offering their software solutions, or at least some of them, directly online, in the cloud . This is the case of Google, a giant that has been launching solutions of all kinds for several years that we use directly from the Internet browser. This is the case, for example, of its own cloud storage service, Google Drive. This is a space that we can use, through our personal Google account, to store our own files.
So we will have access to all this from any computer in the world without having to carry hard drives or USB memories . The truth is that this storage method is increasingly widespread and there are many companies that offer it. The usual thing is that we have a free base space, and to increase it we have to pay. Most users at the moment, for one thing or another, have a Google account, so in turn they have this cloud storage service available for their personal use.
This platform comes with its own input configuration , but there are parameters that we should change, as we will see next.
Install local Drive program
Although Google Drive can be used from the web browser, we still have the possibility of installing an application and using it from it. Sometimes this allows us greater comfort, since despite continuing to work in the cloud, we do it from a program that we install on the system like any other. This way, it will not be necessary to use Firefox, Edge or Chrome to access our files from the cloud.
Change display density
Depending on the amount of content that we have stored here, we have the possibility to customize the way they are displayed . This allows us either to see a greater number of files on the screen at the same time, or to see less but with more detail. To do this, we access the Google Drive settings from the gear icon and test the options available in the Density section.
Modify notifications
In that same window, on the left, we find a Notifications tab that we are also interested in customizing. And it is that from it we can specify the elements of this type that we wish to receive when changes occur in the contents of our account. This is very useful if we have certain folders shared with others.
Manage application usage from Drive
Likewise, the storage platform allows us to interact with other programs to carry out certain tasks, at least by default. But that is something that we can also customize if we wish. This is something that we also achieve from the Settings / Manage applications section.
