When a new Apple product comes out, it is already a tradition that it is disassembled to be able to see its interior exactly. This process has been done with the recently introduced Apple Watch Series 6 where different surprises have been found such as a larger battery or a slimmer design. Force Touch disappears from Apple Watch
One of the novelties that has been included in this new generation of Apple Watch is the abolition of the Force Touch function. With this, the screen could respond to the pressure exerted on it by the user to obtain a response in the form of opening menus. With the elimination of this function, the hardware that made it functional has also obviously disappeared as seen in the disassembly. This decision has brought many benefits by simplifying the disassembly process as well as reducing the likelihood of damage to the watch.
The hardware required to perform the Foce Touch function was quite a fragile and failure-prone part. So removing it makes the watch more difficult to break. The problem obviously is that many users will miss this ingenious functionality of receiving responses to pressure.
In an extra way, it has also been determined that the taptic engine has increased in size with respect to the Series 5. Something almost imperceptible to the eye that has been seen exactly is the thickness of the Apple Watch Series 6 that has been reduced with respect to the previous generation. It has gone from a thickness of 10.74 mm to 10.4 mm, although as we say it is an extremely small difference that cannot be clearly seen if both models are compared.
Battery increases in size
One of the problems that Apple Watch traditionally have is that the battery does not last many days in a row as if they offer other watches from the competition. Apple is trying to improve this aspect to offer a better experience by adding a faster charge to have a charge of 80% in 1 hour. In addition, the size of the battery has also been increased, something that they never say publicly and that has to be determined by making a disassembly.
Specifically, the battery of the 44 mm model of the Apple Watch Series 6 is 3.5% larger than that found in the previous generation and has a power of 1.17 Wh. In the case of the 40 mm model, a significant improvement in the battery has been noticed as it is 8.5% larger than the previous generation. This move is undoubtedly aimed at allowing users to use their watch at night to take a sleep measurement without having to compromise the battery too much. In the same way, Apple continues to affirm that the autonomy of its watches is 18 hours, so it is an indication to think that the processor can consume more energy than the previous ones.
