Despite the fact that Google is in charge of developing new Android updates and making them reach your phones, luck does not always smile on you. The last problem has to do with the battery and it is more serious than what we are used to seeing, since it ends up causing some phones to continuously turn off or restart without being able to use them.
This is not something that should happen, even though the mobile has been around for a while and even less due to an update that has previously gone through the beta, to check for possible bugs and make it ready for everyone. As if that were not enough, several weeks have passed since the error began to occur and after that, the problem continues without an immediate solution.

Trouble measuring battery
In all the cases that we have been able to see on Twitter, Reddit and in Google’s own forums, the story originates from Android 13. This means that the cause that leads phones to suffer from this problem is the same and is not mere coincidence. It is repeated many times in the Google Pixel 4, Google Pixel 4 XL and Google Pixel 4a , but it also appears occasionally in other terminals.

As we can read in the clarifications of those affected, the problem begins with a warning where the battery cannot be read correctly or what is the same, the phone does not know what percentage of energy it really has. This error, which appears on phones that are many years old, has accelerated on phones that have gone on to have Android 13. As we can see in the screenshots, in other cases the battery appears as non-existent.
In the comments we can find many proposals for solutions and even Google itself has responded with advice, but unfortunately no one has ended up hitting the key. The most repeated tests go through letting the phone turn off when it reaches 0% and fully charge it while it is off, without missing the proposals to use a charger without any type of fast charge.
Our recommendation, however, is to extract all the photos and files, to do a factory reset and in this way Android 13 is clean on the smartphone. It may not end up being the solution, but this will significantly improve the life of the mobile and with the next patch, we will avoid the occasional error that could come from Android 12.

Those who have a second terminal have been able to get rid of the error for now, although many others have chosen to contact the official technical service and send them the phone. Back the terminal works perfectly and as much as it may seem to be the fault of the battery, it does not seem far from the cause.
Google is usually very aware of the bugs that the community shares in the forum and due to the comments we have heard, we trust that the solution is about to arrive. The monthly patches that the Pixel terminals must receive are about to enjoy the October one, so we trust that when that time comes, this undesirable experience with the battery will be forgotten.
