The month of August has left us with a pleasant surprise, the arrival of Android 13 . This, however, has not meant the evolution that we all expected and wanted, since the problems and all the options that are missing in the new version have left those of us who have already tried this update somewhat cold.
Other years, when smartphones were updated, we came across innovations that generated a lot of expectation, something that was repeated last year with the options to customize Android, the new quick access panel or even the renewal of permissions. This year innovation seems to have been forgotten and we also have to add the problems that are appearing, for the moment, since it has its reasons.
Issues to be fixed
The early arrival of Android 13 is not without controversy, since, for some users, the system is not well finished. One of the errors that has left the most criticism in forums and social networks has to do with access to multitasking or to return to the home screen. When using these functions, the smartphone freezes and forces us to have to restart to be able to use it again.
Among the Android 13 errors, we also find failures in multimedia control that prevent us from controlling music or videos. In other more serious, but less common cases that the Google Pixel 6 has suffered, we run into restarts when using the WiFi network.
To all these we must add small problems that have appeared in the beta versions for OnePlus, OPPO and Xiaomi, among other manufacturers. We trust that these and all will end up disappearing with the next security patch, at the same time as the final version for each of the customization layers.
The news that is missing in Android 13
The fact that the new version of the most popular operating system has already been officially released does not ensure that we have all the functions. For years, Google has accustomed us to discovering tools little by little for the system and this time, that path seems even clearer. We explain to you what are all the news that are yet to come and that should appear before the end of the year 2022, although the dates are not guaranteed.
- New security panel : With Android 12 the security function of the settings changed, making things easier for us users. In Android 13 it will continue to evolve with a new look, also unifying other functions related to phone security.
- Search in Pixel Launcher : mobiles created by Google have a search engine that houses, in addition to everything on the internet, what is on our mobile. With Android 13 this has disappeared, although as confirmed by the company, it will return and possibly improve it.
- Cross-Device Integration – Something Google should have learned from iOS years ago is full account integration. This seems to be coming soon, keeping the clipboard and, in addition, offering a total union between the chat apps, where the Google messages would be.
With the update we only make sure that sooner or later all this will reach our smartphone, but at the moment Android 13 is only a subtle modification of what version 12 was.
