The battle between Xiaomi and Realme becomes increasingly interesting. It is something that we have been seeing since the landing of Realme in Europe at the end of last year, and that is still latent in new releases. Two of the latest mobiles presented by both companies, such as the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and the Realme 6 Pro , are the protagonists of our new comparison.
These two new terminals have been presented and are yet to arrive in Spain. We still do not have news of the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, but we know that the Realme 6 Pro will be presented in our country along with its standard edition, next March 24. The two terminals have very similar technical benefits, but technical differences to take into account.
Screen and Dimensions
When we take a look at the screen of both devices, we see that the Xiaomi device sports a size of 6.67 inches and 386 dpi, while the Realme 6 Pro stays at 6.6 inches and 399 dpi. The great advantage of Realme is that it has a refresh rate of 90 Hz, compared to 60 Hz for the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. They both sport FullHD + resolution. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is 8.8 mm and 209 grams thick, compared to the 8.9 millimeters and 202 grams of the Realme 6 Pro.
Processor and Memory
When raising the hood we find the same brain in both terminals. That is, a Snapdragon 720G manufactured in 8nm and that has an Adreno 618 graphics chip. The two terminals also have options of 6 and 8 GB of RAM , which can be accompanied by 64 or 128 GB of storage. They can also be expanded using microSD cards.
64 megapixel cameras
We also find a very similar setup on their cameras. The two have four rear cameras led by a 64 megapixel sensor, and accompanied by an 8 megapixel wide angle, and 8 megapixel depth and macro sensors. However, there is a difference in the selfie sensor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro Max places it in a hole in its screen and reaches 32 megapixels, while the Realme 6 Pro sports two sensors, also located in a wider hole. In this case we are facing 16 and 8 megapixel sensors, which serves as a wide angle.
Connections, battery and SO
If we look at the connections, we find the main ones in the two teams, including Bluetooth 5 and a fingerprint sensor located on one side. Luckily they both hold the 3.5mm jack. The two terminals move with the latest version of the operating systems of their respective manufacturers, that is, MIUI 11 and Realme UI, both based on Android 10. There is an important difference in the batteries section, since the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is 5,020 mAh and supports 33W fast charging. The Realme 6 Pro for its part, has 4,300 mAh and 30W fast charge.
And the prices?
We still have to know the prices in euros of the two terminals . However, changing their prices in other countries allows us to get an idea. It is possible that when they reach our market the Realme 6 Pro is slightly higher than the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. We will have to wait for these data to get a precise idea, but a first change places the Xiaomi model at about 180 euros compared to 220 euros for the Realme 6 Pro.
