Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S: Solution to the Wi-fi Problem

When we tell you on our site the various problems that may arise on our mobiles, those of connectivity occupy a preferential place. It is very normal for users to experience failures in the Wi-Fi connection, although it is not so normal that this occurs with a device that is completely new. This is what Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S users are experiencing.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S: Solution to the Wi-fi Problem

When a terminal goes on the market, we often see how it is usual for the manufacturer to launch prompt updates. These patches are usually intended to correct initial failures that may have escaped before being released. In a large majority, the problems are related to connectivity.

The problem

Now it is the Redmi Note 9S that is facing problems with Wi-Fi , as reported by several users in specialized forums. Apparently it is only the European version, since we remember that this terminal is the same Redmi Note 9 Pro available in other countries. This may be good news, since we would be facing a probable software and not hardware problem.

According to the error reports, the terminal disconnects from the network randomly , minutes after the screen has been blocked. Affected users indicate that this occurs 10/15 minutes after the screen locks and turns back on. In that case, the Wi-Fi status is shown as connected, but there is no data traffic.

There’s a solution?

This bug is affecting Redmi Note 9S across Europe. However, the problem is partially resolved with MIUI 11.0.8.0 update , but others still experience the problem even after updating. The developers of XDA have released this firmware, to verify that it is a temporary patch.

In other words, units updated to the latest version close the Wi-Fi session every 10 minutes, followed by a login after several seconds. This is common in other Android phones, but it is normal for this disconnection (which aims to renew the IP address) to occur every few hours, not every few minutes.

The only possible solution to the problem is to upgrade to version 11.0.8.0, as resetting the device to factory settings doesn’t seem to be working. It is very possible that Xiaomi has another patch on the way that will definitely fix the error. However, the best option if you have this mobile phone, is to immediately follow the information updates that are shared in the thread dedicated to this problem in the Xiaomi forums.
