Xiaomi Phones Will Have a Better Battery with MIUI 12.5

The continuous evolution that mobile phones have makes developers put much of their effort into optimizing the battery and in the case of MIUI 12.5 the improvement is seen as a great revolution. The intention of the Xiaomi team is to ensure that their smartphones can reach the end of the day without problems or even more, which is not only based on increasing capacities, but also on optimizing the system.

Through the Weibo social network, Zhang Guoquan, director of Xiaomi’s mobile systems software department has anticipated an important improvement that he is working to bring to the brand’s smartphones, starting with the Redmi K30 Ultra, which will allow us to significantly improve the battery with MIUI 12.5 in a way that we had not been able to see before.

A new architecture improves the battery of MIUI 12.5

The arrival of the Redmi K30 Ultra had with it several autonomy problems, which Xiaomi has wanted to correct with the modification of the MIUI 12.5 architecture. The technology giant thus raises important improvements that, among other situations, manage to reduce energy consumption by taking advantage of the higher frequency rate of Xiaomi smartphones.

One way to explain in a simple way what the manufacturer has done is to double the processor’s power conduits by requiring more power, avoiding the need for a greater increase in power. In this way, it has been possible to improve the autonomy by up to 5% compared to the previous consumptions of the Redmi K30 Ultra. The key is in the reduction of the voltage, which makes the battery not in a hurry when taking advantage of the different refresh rates.

What mobiles will receive these improvements?

For now, Xiaomi has not confirmed other smartphones to which it will bring the battery improvements together with MIUI 12.5, but it is to be expected that the brand’s mobiles and sub-brands will have access to this evolution of the MIUI 12.5 architecture once. that it leaves the beta in China to later go to the global ROM version and finally to the stable version.

Among the smartphones that could take advantage of it, we find the Xiaomi Mi 11, the Xiaomi Mi 10T and the different Xiaomi Mi 10. This information, however, is not confirmed and we will have to be patient to see it in action, perhaps it does not end up arriving in a refined way to all models in MIUI 12.5 and the great change in architecture occurs in MIUI 13.
