Xiaomi pressed the accelerator to present the new Mi 11 before the end of 2020. We are facing the first Android terminal to integrate the Snapdragon 888, and show off some interesting news compared to the previous generation. But, are there really so many differences between the Mi 11 and the Mi 10 ? Let’s take a look at the technical characteristics of both devices to find out.
As is often the case, comparisons are inevitable between generations. Many users prefer to wait for the price drops of previous models, since the changes from one year to the next are not usually excessively scandalous. Let’s see if this happens with the Xiaomi Mi 11 compared to the Mi 10 last year.
Screen and dimensions
The first thing we see is that the screen continues to grow while the frames continue to rush. The Xiaomi Mi 11 has a 6.81-inch screen, with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,200 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. This screen offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz , 515 pixels per inch, in addition to being protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.
For its part, the Mi 10 has a size of 6.67 inches, with a lower resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 10.5: 9. Its refresh rate is 90 Hz and it has 386 dpi. In this case it is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

Xiaomi Mi 11 screen
We see that the Mi 11 has managed to push the frames even further, with a screen / frame ratio of 91.4%, compared to the 89.8% offered by the Mi 10. In addition, Xiaomi has made the Mi 11 narrower and less heavy than its predecessor, with its 196 grams and 8.1 millimeters thick, compared to the 208 grams of weight and 9 millimeters of the Mi 10.
Two high-end processors
If we raise the hood of both terminals, we see the logical difference of a generational jump. The Mi 11 features the all-powerful Snapdragon 888 processor, while the Mi 10 sports the Snapdragon 865 . Both terminals offer variants of 128, 256 and 512 GB, not expandable, one versions with 8 and 12 GB of RAM. The read / write speed is higher on the Mi 11 with the UFS 3.1 standard compared to its brother’s UFS 3.0 standard.
This difference in the processor translates into the performance results if we take into account some of the most popular benchmark programs such as AnTuTu. The Mi 11 far exceeds 700,000 points, while the Mi 10 is around 580,000 points. However, although the Mi 11 will better withstand the passage of time , at this time both terminals can move with practically the same ease any game on the market or multitasking, however aggressive it may be.

Cameras with 108 megapixels
Xiaomi may have realized that the number of sensors is not everything. In this sense, the Mi 11 sports a triple rear camera, where the Mi 10 offered four sensors. The main 108-megapixel sensor remains, which comes accompanied by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. The Mi 10, for its part, sports a 108 megapixel sensor, the same 13 megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and macro and depth sensors of 2 megapixels each. On the front, both terminals house the selfie sensor in a hole, being 20 megapixels, compatible with HDR and allowing video to be captured at 1080p.

Connections and battery
In the connection section, both are very well served, including their 5G connectivity, NFC, Bluetooth 5 (5.2 in the Mi 11 and 5.1 in the Mi 10), infrared port, both with a fingerprint sensor on the screen. However, we see an appreciable difference in the battery, since the Mi 11 has a smaller battery than the Mi 10 with its 4,600 mAh, stop at the 4,780 mAh of the previous model. This is supplemented by a better energy efficiency of the processor, and with a higher charging capacity, since the Mi 11 supports 55W fast charge, compared to the 33W fast charge of the Mi 10. The speed of wireless charging also It goes up to 50W in the Mi 11, compared to 30W in the Mi 10. Two two move with Android 11, with the subtle difference that the Mi 11 does it with MIUI 12.5, and the Mi 10 with MIUI 12.
And the prices?
We still do not know the official price with which the Mi 11 will land, but considering that the cheapest Mi 10 officially starts at 799 euros , we would not have to wait for a lower price in the new generation. However, in portals such as Amazon we can get a Mi 10 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, for less than 600 euros . Since except for the processor and some technology such as the refresh rate or the load capacity, the differences are not abysmal, it may be that a lot will be launched for the Mi 10, whose price will continue to fall and will do so even more when its new lands brother in our market.
