Microsoft, through its vice president and product manager of Project xCloud , has announced that the new tests of the limited beta period of the streaming game service will begin on April 20 , a new stage that will finally include a functionality desired by many users of the service: the possibility of playing from a browser.
Xbox Games Pass from iPhone
Much has been said about the arrival of Game Pass to Apple devices. Recall that Apple had denied the presence of the official Microsoft application because it allegedly violated the rules of use of the App Store, to which Microsoft responded that it would find the solution so that users of Apple devices could enjoy other types of products without any limitation.
No sooner said than done. Microsoft has just announced that from the 20th of opening it will begin to distribute invitations so that all those Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users can test access to Project xCloud from Chrome or Edge browsers from Windows 10 computers or from the Safari browser in the case iOS device.
A trial period that will continue to expand
This would put an end to the unknown of when xCloud could be played on Apple devices, although for the moment, access to this new function will be gradual, since only some guests will be able to try it at first. Microsoft’s idea is to expand availability across the 22 countries where the service is already available, to finally allow all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users to play the more than 100 games available on xCloud at through a browser.
How do I access xCloud from the browser?
Microsoft has prepared an extremely simple website from which players can directly access the service without having to go through the application (something impossible on iOS, let’s remember). To do this, players will only have to visit the website xbox.com/play to log in and start browsing the full catalog of games that make up the instant streaming service.
The website will not be activated until April 20, so in the meantime it will simply redirect to the official Xbox Game Pass website.
What do I need to play?
As it happened until now, the only thing that we will need is a bluetooth control to play from our tablet, computer or mobile phone. Still, if you don’t have a wireless controller, there are over 50 games that currently have a pattern of touch controls so you can play comfortably by touching the screen.
