Xbox Cloud Gaming could be announced for Samsung Smart TVs soon

Cloud gaming has only just begun. Although the most veterans of the place remember those first experiments with OnLive, which disappeared a little over a decade ago, it seems that now the time has come thanks to the promotion of companies such as Microsoft, Amazon and Google. So is there a better device to hop on than the connected Smart TVs we all have at home?

Microsoft continues burning stages

Xbox Cloud Gaming could be announced for Samsung Smart TVs

Thus, it seems clear that the future of streaming game services necessarily involves reaching the operating systems of the most popular Smart TV brands on the market. Curiously, it is the place where they are least seen , if we remove from the equation the models with Android TV that, thanks to the official Google application store, offer some ease of access to both Stadia (especially) and Xbox Cloud Gaming.

But if we look within the ecosystems of Samsung and LG (the best-selling brands), for example, we will see that their owners still have to wait for something similar to a compatible application to be released. Until now, because it looks like Microsoft has already started its strategy to conquer the last of the frontiers it has yet to reach: Tizen and webOS.

In the case of Samsung, some insiders warn that, taking advantage of the gaming events that will be held this week instead of E3 2022, there is very little (even hours) left before Microsoft announces that Xbox Cloud Gaming will be available on the Smart TVs of the company. Thus, in general, because in the data that has been provided there are no references to models, generations of televisions or requirements to be met in order to enjoy, for example, a good game with that superb Xbox Forza Horizon 5 .

Samsung-Microsoft, something more than a friendship

That Samsung Smart TVs are the first to receive the official Xbox Cloud Gaming application should not surprise us because there have been many years of collaboration between Koreans and North Americans around cloud gaming . Without going any further, we just have to remember how in 2020, with the launch of the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, buyers could have the exclusive privilege of testing what was then known as xCloud, in its beta version.

Already in those first moments, Samsung was supporting Microsoft in the expansion of both its cloud gaming service and that Game Pass that allows us to enjoy more than 400 titles on both Xbox and PC, although in its cloud version the thing is a little more limited in terms of catalog depth. In any case, the possibility of remotely connecting to our consoles to play and continue a game is enough of an attraction to start taking this technology into account.

And if you are a lucky owner of a Samsung Smart TV, it may be that in the next few days, you will be able to play remotely with any title you fancy. Interesting, right?
