Coming up shortly, the Windows 11 24H2 update includes one of the biggest changes made to the operating system since its debut. Laden with new features, developments, and a firm focus on Artificial Intelligence, Windows 11 24H2 intends to enhance your computing experience. Microsoft has devoted almost two years to developing this update, which will be downloadable starting next week—on the condition that your PC fits the necessary specifications.
Requirements for Windows 11 24H2
The fundamental system requirements for this version align with what we have seen in the past for Windows 11. Here’s what you need:
- Processor: 1GHz or faster dual-core CPU.
- RAM: The recommended minimum storage for using this platform is 4GB, while for AI features like Copilot you’ll need 8GB.
- Storage: 64 GB or more (Solid State Drive recommended).
- Motherboard: Has to support UEFI, Secure Boot, and TPM 2.0.
- Graphics: DirectX 12 compatible GPU.
- Internet: Mandatory for the setup and upgrades.
The CPU has a stricter requirement in 24H2 however. Your processor has to support either SSE4.2 or SSE4a instructions. If it turns out that way, you will not be capable of running this version, which means that users who skipped the original requirements of Windows 11 will not be able to upgrade.
Release Date
Even if Microsoft hasn’t made an official announcement about the release date, a recent error suggested that the update will be available for optional download next week, expecting mandatory installation on October 7.
