Personalization is one of the most important features of Windows 10. This operating system brought with it a series of options and functions that, to date, had not been seen in any version of Windows. More control and new options for Windows Spotlight
Windows Spotlight is one of the novelties that came with Windows 10. Through it, the operating system downloads high quality wallpapers from the cloud and person change the background of the lock screen.
The funds offered by Microsoft through this service are very nice. However, we barely have control over them. The funds are downloaded randomly from the servers and change once a day. But we cannot choose what funds we want or anything.
It would be nice if, in the face of Windows 10 20H2, Microsoft would give us more control over this Windows function. It could, for example, allow us to explore backgrounds and themes to download them and use them manually as a lock screen wallpaper (without having to use third-party apps for it), and could even offer the possibility of allowing us to change the Windows wallpaper automatically for Spotlight funds.
Windows Spotlight is an excellent potential, but the truth is that it is very badly exploited.
Automatic switching between light and dark subject
After much asking, Microsoft brought users a clear theme and a dark theme. The main purpose of these themes is to adapt the colors according to the time of day, the clarity in the room. In this way, during the day we can have brighter colors that do not tire our eyes, and during the night we will have darker colors that help us work better in low light situations.
Many applications also have their own themes. Thus each user can adjust this aspect according to their preferences. However, it is not known why, Microsoft does not offer the possibility to switch between light and dark themes automatically according to the time of day.
Having the possibility to choose type of topic, and not to switch from one to another automatically, does not make much sense. We hope that throughout 2020 we can see how Microsoft is finally improving the level of customization of its operating system and offers us a feature as basic as this.
Dynamic Desktop for Windows 10
Dynamic Desktop was one of the novelties that Apple presented for macOS already well over a year ago. This novelty, exclusive to the Mac, allows you to change the wallpaper depending on the time. In this way we can have a fund according to the time of day, either day or night. In addition, it also changes the theme so that, at dusk, we automatically have the operating system dark mode activated.
Users have asked a lot for this option for Windows. And there are even third-party apps and unofficial themes outside the Microsoft Store that allow us to enjoy it, more or less. But today, nothing native.
