The mobile cameras are becoming more complete, they present us with more options and are more versatile, especially in the high range where we find authentic photographic equipment. The rivalry between Apple and Samsung comes to the cameras where we will discover which camera is better, if the iPhone 11 Pro or on the contrary that of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.
With a triple camera led by 12 Mpx , in addition to a wide-angle and telephoto lens of 12 Mpx too, the iPhone 11 Pro will face surprises with the quadruple camera of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra with 108 Mpx , 48 Mpx telephoto lens and wide-angle 12 Mpx, plus the ToF sensor. Its 12 Mpx front camera on the iPhone 11 Pro and 40 Mpx on the Galaxy S20 Ultra also has its place in our comparison. In the MovilZona YouTube channel you will be able to see everything that this comparison gives of itself, if you prefer to watch it and read it we continue.

Front facing camera
The first lens we look at is the one we will use the most with our mobile phone, where the results and details can make the difference between buying one or the other. On the left we can see the result of the iPhone 11 Pro where its 12 Mpx with f / 1.8 aperture are slightly darker than we can see on the right with the 108 Mpx of the Galaxy S20 Ultra with an identical opening. The smaller pixel size is able to offer us more lighting and a higher level of detail.

Results at night
Late at night the iPhone 11 Pro again on the left offers us a differentiated color treatment from the one we see in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. In the first photograph the light burns that area of the photo, meanwhile in the Galaxy S20 Ultra we are even able to see the texture of the stone. The photo on the right also offers a very different treatment of color with a similar level of detail although we do not see burned areas as in the previous image. In the sky we are able to see stars and even some clouds in the dark with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, something that in the iPhone 11 Pro we are unable to see so clearly.
Enhanced telephoto lens on Samsung
When using the telephoto of both smartphones, it offers us a very different result, seeing the iPhone 11 Pro on the left with less light and losing even details . On the right, the Galaxy S20 Ultra allows us to see how more details, more light were already happening on the main lens and results in an image that offers more information.

Unsurpassed zoom on the Galaxy S20 Ultra
On the left, the digital zoom of the iPhone 11 Pro has a lower level of detail than the Galaxy S20 Ultra that with a digital zoom that can reach up to 100 magnifications is able to capture more detail and sharpness, even looking like an optical zoom.

The wide angle has the most similar results
The angle lens of the iPhone 11 Pro (above) compared to the Galaxy S20 Ultra (below) offers us a practically identical result where it offers us 120 degrees in both cameras and a color treatment, as well as practically traced details. It is difficult to find any difference between their lenses, where the contrast seems somewhat higher in the Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Macro mode to know the smallest
In both phones we have the option of using their cameras with macro mode and photographing the smallest objects. Apple (left) offers a level of detail in the featured sheet that can compete with Samsung (right), but in the rest of the image does not finish focusing or blurring the elements and can create some confusion. The colors are finally practically the same I find some difference

Portrait mode of iPhone 11 Pro and Galaxy S20 Ultra
The treatment mode of both lenses has a different blur and method, as the 12 Mpx lens of the iPhone 11 Pro will be responsible for the results on the left and on the right the Galaxy S20 Ultra helped by the ToF sensor. We observe how the clipping is precise in both smartphones and without practically no error, but something more hurried in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. The color treatment on the other hand is highlighted more in the iPhone 11 Pro, both offer a wide range of colors on the face, allowing us to see even the smallest details.
Front camera with and without portrait mode
We pass to its front camera that in the iPhone 11 Pro (left) sensors are used to improve portrait mode and in the Galaxy S20 Ultra (right) it is purely software. We see how with the equally extended arm the portrait mode of the iPhone 11 Pro limits the space we have to photograph ourselves with friends and the level of blur seems more unreal also on the iPhone.
The following photographs without portrait mode do offer an identical distance with the extended arm and allow us to see details and virtually traced colors where it is difficult to see the difference between 8 Mpx and 20 Mpx, unless we want to make a cut or zoom the image, Where we begin to see the differences.
Front camera at night
The night photography with the front camera results in a loss of detail, where the 20 Mpx of the Galaxy S20 Ultra are victorious only in the face because we are also able to see more details around us. The colors offer a different result, the iPhone 11 Pro tends to pink and whitish tones, before the more yellowish tones of the Galaxy S20 Ultra, where our tastes will come into play.

Conclusions Which cameras are better?
As we have seen in the comparison, the photographic equipment of both smartphones gives us great versatility , but in the long distances the Galaxy S20 Ultra are unrivaled against the iPhone 11 Pro. Once night comes, something very similar happens, because The level of detail that gives us so much in the rear cameras this Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, is one step ahead.
If we focus on the front cameras, the difference may be less with the naked eye, with a portrait mode that can compete, but where the accuracy and level of blur is more attractive in the Galaxy S20 Ultra. For all these results Samsung cameras are more prepared to compete not only with Apple, but with all the high-end we will see this year.
