We are constantly getting to know Xiaomi or Redmi smartphones that are updated with a new version of MIUI. This, however, can cause us some confusion even when the updates are corresponding to our model. It is not always the time to update our smartphone even if it has been released for the model and this is due to the stages of updates in Xiaomi , which can be very confusing.

Alpha, the first stage of MIUI
This is the beginning of all MIUI versions and the corresponding updates. All versions go through this section, although some take more or less time to come out. When a drastic design change is made like the one we have seen in MIUI 12, this period lasts longer, something that does not happen in updates that include small modifications.
Closed beta, the next step
After going through the unstable lost Alpha the phases of the MIUI performances make the leap to the Beta version. This term sounds much more familiar to us, since it is when its functions begin to be known to the public. These are usually published in China on a weekly basis and allow a select group of users to test them with many risks and that is why they are not recommended for personal phones.
Stable beta, when it leaves china
Once the first beta has been tested and the most drastic and security issues have been resolved, the stable beta begins. This is the first version of MIUI that can safely leave China , although it is still limited. Not everyone can try it and those who do must be part of the MIUI beta program, having to manually install the first versions.
Stable version, the end result
Finally, the stable version is released that will reach the different ROMs in a staggered way. It is not launched in all countries at the same time and this may also make us think that in our case it is always delayed. In this final version of MIUI you can also see some bugs, but they are minor and will unfortunately affect more users.
