Our mobiles are full of technologies, which seek to improve the user experience and stand out from the competition. To achieve this, on many occasions brands are in charge of devising and patenting their own technologies, which are exclusively integrated into their mobiles. This is the case of Samsung and the UHQ function , which improves the sound remarkably when we connect through Bluetooth connectivity.
Most of the high-end mobiles and many of the mid-range are missing the 3.5mm jack connector. Any self-respecting technology is losing dependence on cables and that means that we have to look for wireless alternatives , which exist, and of remarkable quality.
Improved quality with UHQ
However “the air” is full of interferences that can influence the final quality of the audio, when we connect with a technology such as Bluetooth. Our headphones may be of high quality, but to a large extent, the final experience may depend on those interferences that are on the way.
When investigating the audio options of your Samsung mobile, you may have come across the UHQ option, or Ultra Hight Quality. It is an acoustic function that improves the quality transmitted through Bluetooth to make it as similar as possible to the original sound.
Sound close to the original
This technology, known as a scalable codec, analyzes the space near our mobile to detect inferences made by the Wi-Fi connection. In this way you can automatically correct the audio to transmit it to those with the highest definition and fidelity. Therefore, the UHQ function recovers the loss of quality experienced when playing Bluetooth audio or streaming content and automatically scales it to make the sound as close to the original as possible.
How to activate it
The UHQ function must be activated manually, since it is not activated by default on our Samsung mobile. To do this we go to Settings / Sounds and vibration. Then we went to “Advanced Sound Settings” and selected “Samsung Sound Quality and Effects.” Now all you have to do is tap on “UHQ Optimizer” to activate the function and begin to notice improvements in sound quality.
