The battery is one of the elements of the mobile that presents the most problems. When we buy a new one, we always look at its capacity, specifically in milliamps / hour . The higher the number of milliamps, the greater the capacity and therefore the greater amount of energy it will provide to our device in one hour. The theory is very simple, but the practice not so much, since with the passage of time and a prolonged use of our terminal, this capacity decreases and as a consequence, the battery is used up sooner.
Who does not have a cell phone lost in a drawer that has not been turned on for years? Whenever we change our mobile, we usually keep our previous model, either because it became outdated or because we simply decided to buy a more modern one. On many occasions, we can go to it as a last resort because we have lost or are fixing the current one, or we simply want to rescue files or photographs from yesteryear. In conclusion, it does not matter what the reason is.
The point is that when we want to light this jewel, we find that it does not light . Why? Well, for the simple reason that the battery has been completely discharged after not using it for so long.
Have you fully made sure that it does not turn on?

It seems like a simple question, but it is far from it. Before we get to the worst, we must exhaust all the options to try to turn it on:
- The first thing is to press the power button . If it does not turn on, we must press and hold the button between 10 and 30 seconds. The longer you hold it down, the better.
- The second option is to load it . Ideally, do it with the original cable and charger for a time between 15 and 30 minutes , although sometimes it is enough to have it a couple of minutes until the battery icon appears on the screen. If it does not charge, we must try another charger, as this may be damaged. We wait again between 15 and 30 minutes.
- The last option is that it is not a problem of the battery, but of the screen . To check this, we must press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Then we waited two minutes and then we made a call to that phone. If it rings, the problem will be with the screen. If it doesn’t sound, it will be a battery problem.

Google Photos
Backup copies can save us from many troubles when it comes to recovering our files. In the case of photographs, Google Photos can be your best ally, since it automatically saves all the images that you are storing on your phone in the cloud. If you had a backup in the application activated on your old mobile, the safest thing is that your photos are safe and sound. The only thing you have to do to check it is to enter from any device with the same account that you had in your previous terminal and you will be able to download them wherever you want.
Google Contacts
There are different ways to save the contacts on our device. On our SIM card, in the mobile’s own storage or in the cloud. The Californian company also comes into play here, since it has its own section for our contacts. If you had previously activated it and had made a backup, you can restore all the numbers on your new device like this:
- Go to your device settings and look for the Google menu.
- Find the Configure and restore section and access it.
- Once inside, click on Restore contacts.
- Select your account (since you can have several) and choose the backup you want to restore. Then all the contacts will have been synced to your new phone.
Google drive
Through Google Drive you can restore applications, call history, calendar and much more stored in your personal Google account. This action can be carried out when we configure our new phone. To do this, you must do the following:
- On your new phone, enter your Google account.
- When you have requested, it will tell you that a backup is available.
- Restore the backup. All your files and documents from your Google account will be restored to your new device.
