OPPO Quick Start: Access Apps from the Fingerprint Reader

OPPO is a “relatively new” brand in Spain. Their smartphones are already fully established in our country but there are users who do not know the tricks of their operating system as well as those of other brands such as Xiaomi or Samsung.

Unlike MIUI, EMUI or Samsung One UI, to name just 3 of the most famous layers and customization, the Chinese brand’s smartphones work with ColorOS , a system very similar to OxygenOS. For this reason there is a hidden trick in the software that both brands share.

This trick allows you to use your fingerprint to access a series of apps as soon as you unlock the device, changing the way you use your mobile and facilitating access to your favorite phone content.

A new way to access your favorite apps

Both OnePlus and OPPO share this function, which basically allows us to configure our favorite apps to access them from the same fingerprint sensor located on the screen. For example, we can set the default music app to open, the camera, the notes app, and even make payments with NFC through our default app.

To execute it, we simply have to unlock the smartphone using the fingerprint and, when we access the home screen, keep the finger without lifting the screen for a second. Up to 5 default apps that we have configured by default will appear in the panel.

Quick Start Settings

Of course, if we do not configure this function from the settings menu, we will not be able to use it. Therefore, the first thing you should do is access the Practical Tools menu in OPPO, or Utilities in OnePlus to find the aforementioned Quick Start control menu.

Now you will see a series of default apps that you can change to your liking, by pressing and moving them or adding new ones. If you opt for the second option, not only will you be shown the different apps that you have installed on your mobile, but also direct accesses to sections of them such as private messages from Instagram, to a specific WhatsApp contact, etc …

Once it is enabled, unlock the smartphone with your fingerprint and, without lifting your finger, wait until this menu appears and choose the shortcut you want without lifting your finger at any time, simply by scrolling the screen.

Is it compatible with all mobiles?

This tool is present in all OPPO and OnePlus customization layers since their update to Android 10. For this reason, it is present in all smartphones of both brands launched on the market in the last year, as long as they have a fingerprint sensor on the screen. .

And is that if we do not have a fingerprint reader and a smartphone with OxygenOS 10 or ColorOS 7.0 we will not be able to use this tool.

The alternative, in the Play Store

Google was one of the first brands to add the possibility of incorporating shortcuts to certain functions or applications in its Google Pixel, but soon something similar was imitated by different Google Play apps. To simulate the Quick Launch on mobiles that do not have the fingerprint sensor on the screen but want to quickly access their favorite apps, we have a free app like Fingerprint Quick Action .

FingerPrint Quick Action

This app allows, not only to configure direct access to the sections of the smartphone that we want, but even to establish different gestures to access one or the other. You can hold a long press to access the calculator, slide your finger quickly to launch WhatsApp or use the rest of the gestures present in the app.
