Transferring files from mobile to computer and vice versa is still a road task for many users. It is true that cloud storage has greatly reduced this need, but having our files in a safe place on our PC continues to be something to consider. Unlike not so long ago, we can pass files between mobile and computer without connecting any cable.
The most reliable connection may still be cable, as it is less prone to connection outages, but the wireless convenience of the mobile-PC interface is beyond question . In addition, the current standards in the connection speed of any average home, mean that the transfer time does not suppose the turtle of yesteryear when using the same methodology without cables.
Goodbye to the cables
It does not matter if we have an Android phone or an iPhone in our hands, since both operating systems have options to get files from one destination to end in another. In this case, our objective is that the files of the mobile and the PC can be easily exchanged.
Cloud method
A method that does not fail, but that is somewhat slower and works as a trick, is to use some cloud service to exchange the files. In this case, Wetransfer or some other cloud file hosting website may be useful , as long as your free limited storage is not enough. Otherwise we may need to get a higher plan.
The technique is to upload the files from our mobile or PC, and download them on the platform that we want. That is, if we send files from our PC by WeTransfer, we can use the mobile to download them by accessing the link from an email.
Via AirDroid
The next technique, valid for both platforms, is to use a special app. The most widely used is AirDroid. It is a complete method by which we can share all types of files , including photos, videos or documents, between mobile and PC , easily and without connecting any cables.
For this it is necessary that we download the Airdrop client from our computer and do the same on our mobile, both in the AppStore and in Google Play. Once downloaded and installed we will have to follow the following steps.
- Create an account on the platform: we can log in with platforms such as Facebook or Google.
- Scan QR: once the Windows client is started, we will have to scan the QR code from our mobile to link our mobile with the PC.
Once done, the PC client and the computer client will show the folders and files , as well as the different options. The “Toolbox” tool will allow us to transfer files bi-directionally between both devices quickly. We will only have to drag the contents from one side to the other.
