3 Amazfit Watches Compared: Bip 5 Unity, Cheetah and T-Rex Ultra

Updated : Rechecked the three original models, removed old sale prices and corrected the buying and water-resistance advice.

The Amazfit Bip 5 Unity, Cheetah and original T-Rex Ultra suit different jobs. The Unity is the simpler everyday option, the Cheetah focuses on running, and the T-Rex Ultra is built for outdoor use. These are older models, so compare the exact product, condition and warranty before treating a discount as a good deal.

Which of these three Amazfit watches fits you?

Watch Main reason to consider it Important limit
Bip 5 Unity A large screen, notifications and Bluetooth calls Route tracking needs your phone; it has no built-in GPS
Cheetah, original round model Built-in dual-band GPS and running tools Map and route features need setup in Zepp; this is not the newer Cheetah 2 range
T-Rex Ultra, original model A rugged body, GPS and outdoor navigation tools It is larger than a basic fitness watch; do not confuse it with the Ultra 2

Bip 5 Unity: check the missing GPS first

The Unity is worth a look if you mainly want calls, notifications and everyday activity tracking. Its 1.91-inch screen gives you more room to read than a narrow fitness band. Bluetooth calling still needs a nearby connected phone; the watch does not replace a mobile plan.

The key trade-off is GPS. Unlike some similarly named Bip watches, the Unity relies on the phone for route data. Check the exact name on the box and the Bip 5 Unity support guide. A listing for a Bip 5 or Bip 6 is a different product.

Cheetah: look for the exact running features you need

The original Cheetah Round has dual-band positioning and supports offline maps. Download the right map and prepare a route before you leave. An offline map does not mean you can pick any destination on the watch and get phone-style directions.

Choose it for the running tools you will use, rather than a claim that GPS is always perfectly accurate. Trees, buildings and how you wear the watch can still affect a route.

T-Rex Ultra: rugged does not mean damage-proof

The original T-Rex Ultra has a 10 ATM water-resistance rating. That is not a promise that every water activity or every real-world depth is safe. Follow the model’s manual, especially for diving, hot water and high-pressure water. Our guide to water-resistance ratings explains why a rating needs test conditions.

Check these things before buying an older watch

  • Confirm the exact model and whether it is new, refurbished or used.
  • Check the current Zepp app requirements for your phone.
  • Look for a clear return policy, local warranty and a working original charger.
  • Allow for battery wear; advertised battery life uses specific test settings.
  • Compare the total price with newer models available in your country. The old prices in this guide are no longer reliable.
