- blue smoke. It could be because the engine is burning too much oil. It can be caused by wear on the valve guide seals or piston rings. It could also be due to a problem with the turbocharger.
- black smoke. It means that the engine is burning a lot of fuel. It may be due to problems in the engine air filter, injection sensors, injectors and fuel pressure regulator.
- If the smoke is white and coming out in small amounts , like strings, it is possibly due to a normal condensation buildup inside the exhaust system.
- If, on the other hand, the smoke is white and dense , it means that you are burning engine coolant. It can be due to problems in the head gasket, in the cylinder head or a possible crack in the engine block.
- If the smoke is gray , it may be because the car is burning oil, a faulty turbocharger, or a clogged or malfunctioning positive crankcase ventilation system.
At the same time, and to see the state of health of the car in general, we can also pay attention to the sound of the engine , checking if it works regularly or shows signs of fatigue, ‘cough’ or idling abnormalities, such as ups and downs.
