Much has been said about the performance of Apple’s new A14 chip , present in the iPhone 12. It is very common for performance tests to occur between the iPhone and various Android terminals. Carrying the same brain, the final performance of a mobile can be very different from another due to the optimization work of each manufacturer in addition to other factors.
Apple has ensured that the A14 Bionic is the most powerful mobile processor ever seen in a smartphone. Now, it has been the people of Android Authority who have wanted to make a performance comparison between the iPhone 12 and a OnePlus 8T. The two terminals have as their brains the most powerful of Android and Apple so far, that is, the aforementioned A14 Bionic and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865.
The test has been carried out with the Speed Test G software , which is an independent performance test, apart from other more commercial tests and which may show less objective results, as has been shown on some occasions. The terminals go through various stress tests and the one that finishes with the shortest time will be the one that offers the best performance. The result when facing both terminals is that the iPhone 12 clearly beats the OnePlus 8T, finishing all the tests in just 63 seconds, while the OnePlus terminal took 78.8 seconds to perform the same tasks.
It must be borne in mind that in this test the terminals go through all kinds of tests, from the most basic processing, through an aggressive multitasking simulation or very demanding graphic tests . Although the two terminals were close to the benchmark in the CPU, the iPhone quickly took advantage of entering precisely the graphical benchmark section, where it has shown far superior performance in Unity, as shown in the video.
Waiting for the Snapdragon 875
However and although it is below the latest from Apple, this score of the OnePlus 8T places it in a better position than other Android terminals of its competition. It should also be borne in mind that the confrontation is of a 5nm processor such as the A14 Bionic, with the 7nm Snapdragon 865. Many are already thinking of seeing how the iPhone 12 can defend itself when we see the first Android insidious ships with the long-awaited Snapdragon 875, which will be integrated into the next from Xiaomi, Realme, OPPO and many other manufacturers.
