Sony has always been characterized by having a good legion of fans. Throughout the history of mobile telephony, it has left us with great devices. If the Japanese company has always stood out for something, it is because its mobile division has inherited some elements from other divisions, such as the camera or screen section. Today we wanted to compare two terminals such as the Xperia XA1 and the Xperia XA2 to see their main differences.
Both terminals have an HD + resolution but the Xperia XA1 is only 5 inches in size, compared to the 5.2 inches of the Xperia XA2 . In addition, the two terminals have generous frames, something that has continued to be present in Sony mobiles until the arrival of the last generations. In addition, until this year, Sony had never integrated a notch or a hole in the screen.
Design and dimensions
As for the weights and thickness, the Xperia XA2 takes the prize for heavy weight with its 171 grams and 9.7 millimeters, compared to 8 millimeters thick and 143 grams. It is normal that the increase in screen and battery of the most modern model, plays against weight and thickness, something that we see continuously in the industry.
Processor and memory
As for the memory options, the Xperia XA1 has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, exactly the same capacity as its older brother. However we find an important difference in the brain of both terminals. While the older model has a MediaTek Helio P20 processor, the Xperia XA2 integrates the Snapdragon 630 . In this sense, both performance and energy efficiency play in favor of the latest model.
Connections and battery
Both have the main connections including the precious 3.5mm headphone jack. In the battery section, the Sony Xperia XA2 is far superior with its 3,300 mAh and 18W fast charge, compared to the 2,300 mAh of the Xperia XA1. The Sony Xperia XA1 has stayed in Android Oreo while its older brother can count on Android 9 Pie, a very noticeable difference.
At what prices are they available?
In the price section, the Xperia XA1 is available on portals like Amazon for about 179 euros . The Xperia XA2 is not available on Amazon right now, but we found it on other portals for around 279 euros . Given these prices and that the technical differences between the two are not scandalous, except in the processor section, an Xperia XA1 may be a better option. However, having Android Oreo takes away a lot of points.
