Video editing is a task that goes from the simplest to the most complex. Not surprisingly, we find professionals from the sector who are dedicated entirely to video editing, but if you are here it is because you are looking for something easy, fast and comfortable. That is why we are going to show you what possibilities we find to edit video on iOS natively and with applications created by Apple itself.
Edit videos from the iPhone or iPad gallery
Both iOS and iPadOS, operating systems of the iPhone and iPad respectively, share a good part of their functions. Among them is the video editing. Before showing where the editor is and what it offers us, we have to emphasize that it is a very basic edition, ideal for occasions where we only need a minimum touch up and we do not need more advanced tools such as the inclusion of several clips or Add a different audio.
To access this editor we simply have to go to Photos , the default iPhone and iPad app. Once inside we must open the video in question that we want to edit. If you look closely, the “Edit” option appears in the upper right , which we must click on. Once this is done we will find the tools that Apple offers for these quick editions that we want to do.
Among the possibilities we find is that of cropping the video, an option that appears at the bottom in the form of a timeline and in which a preview of the photographers is shown. By adjusting with the left and right arrows you can manage to trim the video at the time you want. We also find at the bottom a series of tools that, as in photographs, allows you to modify parameters such as exposure, color, contrast, shadows and more. Of course, we also find default filters and the ability to rotate the video.
Once we have made the adjustments we want, we must simply press «Ok» in the lower right and the video will be recorded in the gallery.
Apple apps to edit videos
If you consider that the native iOS and iPadOS editor falls short of your expectations, you can go to the App Store to find great editing applications. We want to highlight in this article two developed by Apple, which can be installed on the device, but if they have been removed they can be easily reinstalled by going to the app store.
One of the best known is Clips , an app that may seem very simple but offers curious tools such as the possibility of joining several clips, adding frames, effects, music, text, stickers and more. It also stands out for being able to create videos in real time. Its operation is really simple and intuitive, finding an interface in which thanks to the drag gesture we can practically do anything.
The other app par excellence developed by Apple is iMovie, which also stands out for being extremely simple and intuitive. The possibility of adding effects, music and other tools mentioned in Clips also exists in this app, but the highlight is that it is cross-platform. This is extremely useful if we want to continue editing video on a Mac, or vice versa.
