How to Share Your Mobile Apps with Your Friends without Internet

Sharing our apps with other people has never been too complicated because the Play Store has a share button that sends a download link wherever we want to our contacts. However, now Android makes things a bit easier thanks to Nearby Share, allowing us to send apps to our friends without having to be connected to the network.

As we said, there are several ways to share applications with other phones if you are an Android user, but almost all of them involve using the Internet, downloading a file or making use of specific applications to share them. To avoid having to roast about it, Google incorporates the application sharing function in Nearby Share.

What is Nearby Share?

Nearby Share is a feature that allows users to easily share files without the need for a special application. The feature, which was announced in August 2020, is the Android equivalent of AirDrop for Apple devices and is available on devices running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above.

This allows you to send and receive files or, as in this case, applications, without having to be connected to a Wi-Fi network or have access to a data network, since it also uses the Bluetooth community.

How to send apps to your friends from the Play Store

You don’t have to do anything special or activate complex settings on the phone to share apps using Nearby Share.

All you have to do is start the Play Store application and display the side menu that gives access to My applications and games. Now scroll through the top menu to the right until you find a tab called Share. Select the tab and you will be given the choice between sending or receiving applications.

Once you click Send, you will be prompted to activate the location of the device to locate yourself and place your contact on the map. You will then see a screen where you can select all the apps that you have installed on your phone as well as their weight. When you choose the ones you want and press the send button in the upper right corner, a message will appear where you are encouraged to tell your friend to repeat the same process but by checking the “Receive” option.

And how do I receive them?

The receiver’s smartphone also has to be part of this process, although what it has to do is much simpler. You simply have to open your Play Store , locate the share tab and click on the aforementioned “Receive” button.

Regardless of which one you choose, send or receive, you will be prompted to activate location services.

Once we have received the app, a message will appear warning if we want to install it on the smartphone and it will become part of our collection.
