There is less left for one of the most anticipated releases of the year to reach Netflix. We refer to Shadow and bone , the next great production of the company, of which we already talked at length at the time (well, everything that is known about the series to date) and that it is worth remembering now to the doors of its premiere. Because yes, the long-awaited fiction is closer than ever. Let’s review its key points so you don’t miss out on anything.
A promising story on Netflix
As we pointed out, the series Shadow and Bone is called to be one of the great releases of 2021 for Netflix. And it is that the expectations are very high. The fiction proposal is based on a famous three-book saga called the Grisha saga (the first one being the main one where everything begins, “Shadow and bone”), although we also know that the production will take ideas from its spin- off, “Six of Crows .” All are written by author Leigh Bardugo .
In this fantasy universe there is a “forbidden” zone, full of darkness, the Shadow, where very diverse and sinister creatures inhabit. The protagonist of the story, Alina Starkov , a young soldier, will enter that world and at a certain moment in which she is attacked, she will shed a light from her interior that she did not know she possessed and that will change everything.
The series has a very young and little known media cast, with Jessie Mei Li as the protagonist and Ben Barnes as General Kirigan, also known as The Dark One, another of the transcendental characters in this story who will help Alina to know her inner power and how to control it.
When Shade and Bone opens
Since we’ve been hearing about this series for a while, it’s likely you’re not sure when it will finally debut on the content service. It will be next April 23 (yes, in just 10 days), when the entire first season, consisting of 8 episodes, hits the catalog.
Although the Red N platform already offered us a good preview of its great and spectacular proposal, it recently released a new video, an official trailer of practically the same duration as the first, in which you can enjoy new images of what that we will see soon.
The fans of the saga have applauded this project led by Eric Heisserer ( Bird Box ), who acts as showrunner, screenwriter and executive producer of the series. And it seems that the television story will be quite faithful to the books (at least that is what emerges from its video advances), something that is always appreciated by readers and fans.
Anyway, there is less to see first hand.
