Our mobile can have many applications and within them a multitude of files. Many of these applications also have other functions that are only found when entering them. In this way, widgets were born, which is the fastest way to access the functions of certain applications without having to enter them. But on Samsung mobiles, we can put more shortcuts, such as those offered by the “My Files” tool.
The file managers allow us to see everything that is stored in our mobile, with folders and sub-folders and the individual files of each application. Samsung mobiles with One UI have the My Files tool to manage all of the above. Here we can cut or paste files or folders, but also create folder shortcuts , within the application or on the home screen. In this way, we can avoid taking several steps to access some function or information that we consult frequently.

Choose folder
To be able to do this, we will have to slide up to access the application panel and touch on My Files. Once inside we can select the internal storage or the memory card in case of having one inserted and that it has different files to select from. Then we must select the folder that we want to add as a shortcut . In this sense, you can select some tools that you want to have on hand, such as downloads, screenshots or the camera’s DCIM folder.
Create the shortcut
Once the shortcut is chosen, we will have to press and hold on the folder where we want to create the shortcut on the home screen. Now click on the three points in the upper right part and click on “Add shortcut”. Then we will have to select the location that we want to give to the folder, so in this case we select “Start screen”. Now we will see the shortcut created on the home screen, so we will have the shortcut and we can drag it to the desired location as with any other icon.
Remove shortcut
Just as we have created them for a specific need, there may also come a time when this shortcut is useless. To be able to delete this shortcut, just hold down the shortcut for at least two seconds and click on Delete from start.
